Bluerigger Wall High Speed Cable (hdmi cl3 bl 15ft) 2163

Review for inwall high speed hdmi cable feet

Price was $13.99. It works. I haven't tried it with 4k resolution though. . I was afraid that it wouldn't work properly due to length and how longer hdmi cables are rumored to be less effective the longer it is. . I would have bought the 50 feet cable instead, but i wanted to test the waters and see if all these good reviews were shifty. I now can now play pc games 25 feet away in a different room at 3440x1440 (21:9) resolution and 60 fps. . Make sure if you are using this for a pc, buy a 25 feet usb extension cord and also a usb hub (preferably with power cord) so you can plug your wireless mouse and keyboard up as well.

Prologue

Tough cable, thick rubber, excellent grip on the heads, solid fit when you plug it into your computer/tv. Mine is the 25 ft version so i can display stuff from my computer onto my plasma tv, does the job well. Great buy, picture signal is clear even with this length. . Used it for about 2 years, then the connection became a little faulty, but i can't tell if it's the cable or the hdmi port on my macbook. Not surprising since it puts a fair amount of pressure on the port, the cable being as big as it is. Since i am not sure, i put 4 stars, otherwise it would be 5 stars. My advice, if you plug it into a laptop or something fairly mobile, don't move the laptop around too much with the cable in there. I had the laptop on my bed with the cable. I should have used the laptop stand on my nearby desk and left the cable in there. The sheer size and weight of the cable puts some torque on the port, so you might cut down on the life of your device's hdmi port and this cable. I wish hdmi and usb ports were more like my magsafe2 charging port on my macbook. Can't have it all, i suppose. Bluerigger in-wall high speed hdmi cable - 15 feet - cl3 rated - supports 4k, ultra hd, 3d, 1080p, ethernet and audio return latest standard Review (hdmi cl3 bl 15ft)

So, i had to do some research before i bought this cable. In the description, it says it supports up to 4k, and the latest hdmi 2. 0b standard. This is exactly what i needed to run my games in 4k. My samsung 55" 4k tv was about 40 feet away from my gaming pc. Now, i can select 3840 2160 (4k) resolution with all my capable steam games. I thought the price was right for the length i needed, also the cable is very sturdy. Yes, i would recommend buying bluerigger hdmi cables. -A. Angela

PROS
  • I purchased the 50 foot cable to use in my newly finished basement. After i'd run the cables and the drywall was up i read an article that said that 4k might not work past about 40 feet. However, i'm happy to report that my denon receiver has no problem passing 4k video through this cable. You can tell it's a high quality product. . Be aware that the molded ends are quite large- if you are using this for an in-wall installation and plan on putting in electrical boxes and faceplates, that you will want to use extra deep boxes.
  • I ordered this cable to connect my ps3 to my denon avr-2312 that is located in my basement. When i initially set up my media room i ran a moderately expensive 30' hdmi cable. I dont remember the brand name but it was $250. It was recommended that i not go with a "cheap" cable because of the distance and possible deterioration of 3d image quality blah blah blah so i obliged. This time however since i didn't care much about the ps3 image quality and figured at most i would use it once a month when i am bored, i decided to try the blue rigger cable in the 35' version. Before i pulled it through the wall i decided to just run it down the stairs to be sure there was no issues. Needless to say i do not notice any problems, issues, color inaccuracy or any other technical mumbo jumbo that should stop you from buying this cable. As a matter of fact i personally will never purchase a more expensive "premium" cable ever again. Just in case you were wondering i have a 65' panasonic vt-30, definitive technology mythos speakers, sunfire hrs sub and other quality components so i am by no means cheap or careless when it comes to image or sound quality. Rest assured that if i thought for a second that this cable compromised either of these attributes i would report that in my review and return it. So, i hope this helps you in your decision and good luck.
CONS
  • Update: screen is flickering. Seems like the cable is the problem! sucks. . Great for the price. So far they work. I worry about cables more than 25 ft. Hopefully i dont have to replace it ever. Did research into cables and this was the best for the price.
  • I have purchased two separate 50' cables. Both cables fail 4k gaming with hdr enabled on an xbox one x. Unfortunately, both these cables were routed through a wall, so i need to pull them out and fish new cables in. . Please read reviews carefully - i'm not the only person running into this issue. I believe these cables are not certified at 50' length. Do not buy if you are looking to do an in-wall run!
  • Over long distances, 15ft or higher, these cables do not support full 4k chroma 4:4:4. Image will randomly cut out and display as grey static. After 5 seconds or so, your tv will display that it's no longer receiving a signal. I have the shorter versions and they have no issue. Bluerigger should be more upfront about the quality of their cables at longer lengths. I will not purchase their product again. . If you are looking for a 15ft cable or longer, buy the monoprice premium hdmi cables (also sold on online store). Not much more expensive and sometimes even the same price. I've tried these (after trying many brands) and these were the only ones that worked with zero issues.

Years ago i spent somewhere around $200 per 15' monster hdmi - because i'm dumb. . I later found that there is virtually no difference in picture/sound quality between high and low $ cables. . But i had heard that higher $/quality cables will last longer. . I still have my monsters. I've had these cables longer than any other hdmi i've purchased. However i have spent a few extra $s in the past to upgrade from the cheapest/thinnest/flimsiest cables. For example, i'd buy a sony cable with the "snakeskin" casing thinking it will be less likely to kink. . My experience has been, the cheap crappy, flimsy hdmis outlast their (sony) counterparts. . So this cable? . . It doesn't have the snakeskin casing. It does, however look and feel like a decent quality cable. . So i'm worried. But then again, it was cheap. . So the logical side of me feels like i got a great quality cable; especially for the price. . But the superstitious side of me is waiting for it to catch fire and give me radiation poisoning.

Click to see NoticeBluerigger Wall High Speed Cable (hdmi cl3 bl 15ft)"I had trouble with a 25 foot hdmi cable, so i was hesitant to try this. I had a special 100' hdmi cable that converted the signal to fiber optics and back again, to handle long distances to my projector, but it was giving me trouble. The signal would sync erratically and it would be difficult to get the picture. . I plugged this cable in - and instant perfection! the projector now syncs instantly and trouble-freely. . To think i replaced a $300 cable with a $28 cable - and got much better results!"

(0) Question: Is there a setting from either my tv or computer as there is no hdmi video signal at all?

(1) Question: Does the cable lose any signal over that great a length?

(2) Question: Have anyone tried this 50ft cable on 4k hdr 60hz? is it working with hdmi 2. 1?

I have been using bluerigger cables for years now. Why would anyone waste their money on cables from best buy or whatever big box store trying to sell you on $30+ cables other than they simply do not know any better. I have (3) of these with various connectors. I have been using them for several years now. No issues. They come in slick & braided options. They are good weight, pretty stiff (good durability), & are very reasonably priced. I have not noticed any signal degradation over the last couple of years. Several brands of less costly cables can have this issue over time. I use these cables to connect monitors & my television to my computer as well as my blu-ray player to my tv. I would buy these again. . Fyi: if you are going for the braided option - they are pretty stiff so keep that in mind for your use. An angled cable might suit you better if you require braided & flexible.

When i first hooked this up between my laptop and the tv there was no sound. After significant trouble shooting, downloading new drivers for the computer bios and sound viola there was excellent sound. (this was on a new windows7 professional hp laptop. ) i am writing this in case anyone is not getting audio over hdmi. There is improved video over my hd computer e. G. No degradation of signal which can occur with longer cables and no dropped signal. For the price you can't beat them.

- Q. WilsonThis is a very high quality and heavy duty cable. On top of that they are aesthetically pleasing. The connectors aren't bulky and the cable flexes just the right amount. It would take some effort to kink these and would be very ideal when used on a swiveling/moving mount where cheap cables would wear down. . Bluerigger has been my preferred brand of cables since i first tried them. Stop buying terrible hdmi cables at overpriced retail stores and get these. I've installed ceiling mounted projectors and wall mounted tvs over 25ft+ runs of bluerigger's cables and have yet to have any issues. I was not given free or discounted product in exchange for a review; i simply like these cables and so will you.

Great cable. Looks good, and won't break your bank. Monster is a ripoff since all cables are the same as far as the quality picture and sound, so why pay for their extortionist prices. Honestly, these are better made imo anyways at least from a materials stand point of view. I personnally prefer the braided cables since it's hard to make sure all my cables are hidden. Besides the braided ones don't seem to pick up dust and dirt like rubber coated ones do. The only reason you might not like these cables is where a thicker cable will hinder you because of tight spaces. These definitely aren't extremely flexable. However, with that being said, i've never found this to be an issue even when i've had tight spaces to work with.

The F.A.Q. for bluerigger in-wall high speed hdmi cable - 15 feet - cl3 rated - supports 4k, ultra hd, 3d, 1080p, ethernet and audio return latest standard

I had bought a 25' aurum hdmi cable and it had a weird almost glitter effect on some input sources, namely apple tv, after a lot of research i found this cable which is 10' longer than generally suggested for hdmi's before loss of signal kicks in. Yesterday i replaced the old cable with this one and the image has no flaws now. The image actually seems even more crisp, which may just be a placebo effect, but the noise on all inputs is gone now. I use an optima hd26 projector, so the cable had to be long to run from the ceiling to the input sources on one end of the room. Very happy now, and would highly recommend this cable for anyone doing projects that require a strong, clean signal over a good distance. Others work ok, but this one blew the other one out of the water.

Bluerigger makes some really great products. I've got this cable running from an htpc with a dvi-hdmi adapter to a hitachi projector with a hdmi-md-1 adapter and it works perfectly. No loss in resolution, color, no weird scanning issues, drop-outs, etc. Cable says 26 awg wire too. I almost bought another hdmi cable on online store until i noticed the stated wire gauge was 30. Didn't think that met the standard for a cable this long. But this one works, and 35 feet was just long enough to get from the computer to the projector with almost nothing to spare, which is crazy because i originally only though i needed 25 feet, but went ahead and got the longer one because the price difference was minimal. But i'm glad i got the extra length because this thing is so thick that it's doesn't quite bend and turn like you'd think, gotta leave a service loop at both ends of some sort. That's my only advice. I'm only running 1024x768 at 60hz but i suspect it won't have any issues with the higher resolutions.

Best bluerigger wall high speed cable (hdmi cl3 bl 15ft) in review

This is a high quality cable. I've ordered several of the bluerigger hdmi cables and have never experienced an issue. We had to run a cable from a ceiling projector in a live situation where we didn't have the opportunity to test drive the room. The cable ends were well constructed for a tight snug fit on both ends. When i buy hdmi cables in the future, this company will have my repeat business. A great price and two-day free delivery with prime . What an excellent way to do business!

No signal degradation, passed 1080p fine. I have one hdmi source feeding into a 1 in/ 4 out 4k multiplier that is feeding the garage and 3 other rooms from a media center in the master bedroom. With 4 sets on signal is great. These cables have a rugged outer shield that has no problems being pulled through the walls.

I have used bluerigger cables before and have been happy with them. I got the latest cables because i now have the equipment capability to do 4k hdr at 60 fps. My roku ultra 2016 claims that it will pass 4k/hdcp2. 2 and 4k 60fps. I get all 3 green check boxes but the screen starts flickering and goes black. When i get back to the roku settings it has set itself back to 4k 30 fps. These cables claim to be hdcp 2. 2 and 18gbs. I have the tv set to auto hdr and my avr is set for enhanced hdmi. Are the cables defective? . . Edit: i worked with support and got excellent response from brian. He was responsive to my issue and quickly replaced the cables. My system is now working as expected. Cable construction is very good. My system works very well with the new cables.

I am writing this review after having used this for about a week (i will update this review again in a few months). This cable is amazing. It has no trouble at all for going 50 feet, and it works just as well as a short hdmi cable. There is absolutely no latency, which amazed me, especially for how long this cable is (which i love). I have an original xbox one and this cable allows me to play my xbox further away than the controllers can wireless connect to. This is a heavy duty cable and has proven itself through my own testing with it. I would highly recommend this hdmi cable if you are looking for a quality hdmi cable that is also really long and can go up to 50 ft.

K. Emma, Rhone-Alpes

Everything i read online said i would need a booster, splitter, amplifier, or an active hdmi cord to get hdmi at 50 feet to work. I took the chance to try this cord out first, and it works flawlessly, at less than half the price of an active hdmi cord. I've tested as many setups as i could and they all work! all of these setups work:. - computer to monitor. - computer to tv. - computer, this 50 ft cord to a powered splitter, split to tv and monitor. . So then i really tried to break it - used a display port to hdmi adapter, then this cord to all of the above setups, and they all work perfect! . Attached is a picture of the display port to hdmi adapter, which then runs the 50 ft hdmi cable to the splitter, split to tv and monitor. Craziest setup i could come up with and it works great. (it is unplugged so i could get the picture, but when plugged in works great). . Tl; dr: this 50 foot hdmi cable works

R. Joanne, North Yorkshire says

Can confirm: at 35 feet long, this cable delivers a 4k signal with hdr. Been using an older hdmi cable since 2014. Not that long ago, right? the old cable worked great and could still carry a 4k signal from my office pc to living room tv, but the tv screen went black when i tried turning on "hdr and advanced color" from the windows 10 display settings. Swapped out the old cable for this one, and suddenly that feature works. Noticeable difference even just showing my windows background. Hdr looks a little softer but more true to life and not trying to blind you with bright white light. This cable might have a gimmicky sounding title (high speed / ultra / 4k / etc. ), but i can attest that it actually backs up the claim.

O. Matherly, Worcestershire

I bought this cable after determining that the 10 meter binary b5 standard speed with ethernet hdmi cable that was installed by a "professional" in my home theater didn't push 1080p with deep color. I got blinks of random static and flickers, to no output on occassion, at 1080p with deep color turned on in my ps3. I had to either drop 1080p, or drop deep color to make it work. It took me a few months of buying a new blu ray player, then buying a new receiver, then swapping various cables before i came to the sad conclusion that the 30+ foot in wall (no conduit) run of hdmi cable was the problem. I confronted my installer, who told me this. . "it is well known across the av industry that no cable is high-speed after 10 feet. ". -randy johnson, president, pure audio, richmond, va. . He is wrong. He also gouged me for $200 bucks on that cable. Hard lessons were learned. . I have a denon 2312ci receiver, a sony ps3 slim for my blu ray, and a panasonic 65" vt30 plasma tv. . I ran this $23 35 foot blue rigger cable across the floor to my tv, and my ps3, which never even showed 3d resolutions in the list of possible outputs at all, now went up to 1080p with 3d with the deep color turned on. No flickers, no static, just a beautiful picture. . Now i am stuck having to rip apart my newly finished home theater walls to redo what some prick (who won't replace the old or install the new cable-i. E. Your problem, not mine) screwed up. . Lessons for everyone:. . 1. Do not use anything less than high speed cable with ethernet. This cable works great for only $23 bucks. . 2. Don't trust your av installer, he is feeding on the ignorance of the general public regarding hdmi cables. Cheap cables work just as well or better than the expensive ones. . 3. If you are doing a hometheater in your house during it's construction, run the wires yourself, and use conduit if possible. You will do as good a job or better, and save yourself a lot of money and aggravation. . 4. If you live in richmond and you are considering having an installer prewire, do not use pure audio.

N. Cortney, Saarland says

Product is spot on! fast shipping! great packaging! just a great cable at a awesome price. Very clear picture from my cable box to the tv. I thought their might be some loss of quality in such a long cable but the tv picture looks awesome. I am very pleased with my purchase. Similar hdmi cables available to me locally a lot more expensive. I feel like i got good value for my money on this item. For the price, it's going to be hard to beat this deal - buy it. Quality is excellent, no complaints. Haven't had any issues and don't expect any.

F. Miller, Midi-Pyrenees

This is a good cable for running in an enclosed wall. . Why use cl-rated cable? . The main reason i'd recommend spending a little more to get the cl rated cable is not because it's going to give you a better signal, but because it means the manufacturer has tested the cable to meet the standards necessary to run in wall. Hdmi signals aren't high power so it's highly unlikely they would cause a fire, but if you ever did have a fire you don't want to deal with an insurance company saying they won't compensate for damages because they found the wrong cabling in the wall. To me, that's the value equation you have to apply when considering running cable in an enclosed wall. . Why use this particular cable? . The cable itself is pliable and i didn't have any problems with kinking. I don't know the exact dimension of the plugs, but i used a 5/8 spade bit to drill my holes and i was able to pass the connector through. It's a snug fit through there, so if you're planning to run other cable in the same holes, i'd suggest running this hdmi cable first, then any other cabling. The plugs come with plastic guards on the end which helps keep drywall mud out of the connector - something to consider depending on your application.

E. Delgado, North Carolina says

This worked great for what i used it for. The question really isn't "how good is it? ", because pretty much an hdmi cable is just a cable (unless it's really cut-rate). The question is "what would you use it for? ". . I have directv (non whole-home) with only one dvr and another non-dvr directv receiver. I wanted to route the hmdi sub out from the living room entertainment amp to the master bedroom entertainment amp so i can watch content recorded to the living room dvr in the bedroom. . Mission accomplished.

I. Cecilia, Baden-Wuerttemberg

It works great for what i need it for. 50 feet of awesome. So what i use it for is to hook up to my computer across the room to video capture gameplay. So far i have not run into any problems. Its so inexpensive anyway that i happy if it last a year. It feels very thick and strong and is made to go internally in walls to feed long distances. I've uploaded some pictures so you can get an idea. I've bought other items from bluerigger and couldn't be happier. Now a helpful tip is the weight of the cable may start pushing down on your hdmi port to tv so you may want to prop something under it to not damage ports. (thats a user issue not product. Just stay mindful) would i buy again? yes.

X. Jessica, New South Wales says

Exactly what i was looking for. I am using the item to run from my ps4 which is currently housed indoor naturally to an outdoor projector. This makes movie nights that much more entertaining. I know a lot of people say anything over 25ft and you will need a booster to get a solid signal but that is not the case with this amazing cable. With the projector having the ability to project with a resolution of 720p which looks just as good as any tv the picture quality with the 50ft cable is on point. I would highly recommend this cable to anyone that is in the market for a long cable. The only thing i need now is an audio splitter since i am unable to pull the audio from the projector to my sound bar.

. Anderson, Gateshead says

This cable works very well and the picture is great. It's not a braided cord so it's not as durable but i've also had cables that don't work as well that are braided. For my use of running through the attic and down the wall this is just fine. There is no interference from running through the attic or next to other cables. The connectors seem strong and the cable itself is thick and feels like its a good quality. I've purchased other bluerigger cables that are 50' and they work great as well. I am sold on the bluerigger brand and will continue to purchase their cables above most others.

U. Lisa, Doncaster

Trely surprised and amazed at the quality of cable you get for the price. Packaged nicely in a nice brown box instead of crappy plastic bag. . The sheath is flexible, and not stuck in its packaged coil form. Stretched out easily and pulled through the wall with ease. . The plugs on the end are also compact, so they don't intrude on the surrounding space as much. Was able to plug into the low profile graphics card on my pc without a problem (tight fit from the chassis). . Carried full audio from the computer nvidia card to the lg tv. Cannot complain! fully recommend the brand!

L. Sharon, Champagne-Ardenne says

When i upgraded my av receiver, the new receiver could not connect to the tv over the old hdmi cable. (i tested two new receivers and did extensive trouble shooting to confirm that the old hdmi 1 compatible cable was the problem. It turns out that hdmi cable quality and specs do matter, especially on longer runs. ) i ordered this relatively inexpensive 35' hdmi cable to test the connection between the receiver and the tv before i went to the trouble and expense of buying a higher grade, active cable and pulling it through the wall. This one tested fine, so i went ahead and pulled it through the wall to make the 30' run from the av rack to the tv. No problems and it works great so far, so i'm happy with saving some money and effort.

V. Anonymous, Wirral

I bought this cable specifically for in-wall installation to run from my office to my living room so i could connect my pc to my tv for pc gaming in the living room. This cable works great for that purpose. The cable is very sturdy with a thick jacket. This is great for installation in-wall and out of sight, and you can be confident that the cable will be fine pulled through the wall and pulled in the ceiling. Its hdmi, so the image works and audio works. It looks beautiful with a blu-ray player i used for testing and the pc i installed it specifically for. . Things to keep in mind. This is meant for in-wall use, the cable is heavy and not flexible like standard hdmi patch cables. For this reason, its probably a good idea to use keystone or another connectors on the wall ends and then patch with standard hdmi cables from the wall to device. Hdmi isn't great for maintaining a positive connection and depending on the device hdmi jacks can have a positive tight connection or a loose connection that doesn't hold well. If you disconnect/connect your hdmi cables frequently then a patch cable will help keep this cable working for a long time.

P. Anonymous, Washington says

I've used a few bluerigger cables in the office, and they always work fine. This time i needed the 35-foot cable. Would it perform? . We had an issue where some users hooking up a laptop to an older tv got very poor picture quality. It might work just fine, or it might work with a lower refresh rate, or it might not work at all. One possible problem was, we chained a few cables together to cross the distance from the hdmi port to the tabletop. Another problem was, these cables were old! it was worth trying to replace the cables first, instead of getting a whole new 70" tv. Bluerigger's cable did the trick, and now we all have good plug & play display in that room.

W. Margaret, Oklahoma

I actually only buy bluerigger after 2 great cords i've gotten from them. They're truthfully some of the best you can buy. The cord is super thick with a good, strong outer coating, each end is gold-plated and are held in their casings well, and the cord is pretty stubborn so you can't break it too easily. Now this might be a problem if you are trying to make a sharp turn to fit into a hdmi port, so be aware when buying these that you'll need some room to work with as far as the arc from where the cable is coming from to the actual port. However, this has never been an issue for me, and i highly recommend any of bluerigger's hdmi cords.

Q. Watson, Leicester says

Only tried it once since it's been raining for 5 straight days. Bought this 35' hdmi cord to use this summer to watch movies outside on projector. I temporarily set up the screen in house and watched a movie and it worked fine. Picture quality was good and never cut out which was my biggest concern when running longer cords. I switched it to direct and watched tv for an hour and all was well, however the sound skipped once but they may of been the satellite due to the nasty weather. Will post again when i use it over the summer. If i don't repost than that's a sign that cord works great and without issue.

J. Jackson, Lancashire

I was skeptical about 50 feet for hdmi without the new chipset that comes with some of the cables of that length and longer. But all the reviews were positive, and at about $35 or so the price had come way down and seemed very affordable. The cable seems somewhat thick, which is good. I think it's good build quality. We run a 46" 1080p samsung tv as a pc monitor, extending the pc desktop. We run power dvd 13 on the pc, and display videos on the tv, or youtube videos with chrome. It works perfectly with no signs of signal degradation. I pulled an expensive nvidia 285 graphics card out, and bought the inexpensive amd 6450 card for about $39 which provides hdmi, dvi, and vga. We run a dvi lead to a dell 20" 1600x1200 desktop monitor, then the hdmi to the tv. My motherboard allows switching the sound from the on-board realtek sound chips running the pc satellite speakers and woofer, to the amd hdmi sound, which goes out the hdmi cable and plays through the tv's own speakers. But some motherboards won't allow you to do this, and the only sound option you'll get is through the hdmi. We have two 6450s on two different pcs, so i know what i'm talking about. Here's an extended desktop tip. Instead of turning around and trying to look across the room at the tv, about 25 feet away, to adjust full-screen, or pause the video, etc. , just put a windows 7 magnifier window on your desktop, about 2" by 2" in size. Set magnifier zoom to 100% meaning no zoom. The magnifier window will follow your cursor. When you move off screen onto the extended screen of the second display, the tv, you can see everything in the magnifier window - no need to try to look across the room or use binoculars, lol. Setting up the magnifier window is slightly tricky. First of all, put the magnifier shortcut on your desktop. Then start magnifier - it will jump into full-screen mode, but try to access the magnifier settings, and get it into the dock mode (not full-screen) which will put a magnifier window across the entire top of the screen. Then reach into the middle of that window and pull it down - it will turn into a normal sized small window that you can adjust for your taste. Note: if you can't get to the settings when you first start the magnifier, which happened to me, go to the task bar and that might work, otherwise close the magnifier from the task bar and then open it again, and keep trying. It might take 3 or 4 attempts. Tip 2. Bring your browser window, or your power dvd window, back to your pc desktop, before you close everything up - which means, take it out of full screen mode, and grab the window and bring it back to your desktop. Using the small magnifier window to do this will make it so easy. The reason to bring everything back, is that later on when you turn on your pc, and then you open chrome, if you left chrome on your tv, that's where it will stay. You will wonder why you have no chrome window - well it's on the tv which is currently turned off, or maybe is now set to a different source other than the pc hdmi input. Same thing with a video player like power dvd with software upscaling - true theater enriched saturation and detailing - worth the $100 retail we paid for it - it makes even 1080p files look better - if you don't believe that just ask the player to show you side by side, software enhanced video, vs raw video. So again, bring that player back to your pc desktop before turning off your pc, or you will wonder where power dvd went. :) enjoy!

Top inwall high speed hdmi cable feet Review

Disadvantage and Critical reviews

E. Evelyn, Wakefield says

Bought the cord to instill in my wall for a mounted tv. The brand new cable didn t work! so now it s in my wall and useless! granted, i probably should ve tested it before installing, but the other one i bought from another company worked perfect. I also came to realize they don t accept returns!

. Fabian, Ile-de-France

Won't carry 18gbps 4k/60+hdr. . Having to disable hdr to get devices to handshake. Works fine on other cables but not this one.

R. Wade, Maine says

Ehhhhhhhhhhhh, it's alright. You need something that amplifies the signal to get the picture to work properly. I just hooked it up to my surround sound amp after realizing that my apple tv wouldn't push an hdmi signal 50ft. Then i realized that hdmi over ethernet is a much better way to go. Live and learn. Darn it. Too bad the cables in the wall.

X. Wayt, Bath and North East Somerset

I was afraid that 25feet would be too long to deliver 1080p. Boy was i wrong! the quality of cable you get for this price is pretty amazing. I couldn't be happier with the results. . Update 7/29/17: had to come back and change this rating to one star. I bought this cable in 2015 and it stopped passing a signal with no notice. I know this because i have tested another cable so it's not a component issue. Very unhappy because this run is through the ceiling and now i have to do it all over again. Ugh! time to look for another brand!

. Zelda, Sachsen-Anhalt says

Preliminary review: i needed a 50' hdmi cable that supports 4k output from my oppo udp-205 to my 4k lg tv and i needed it the same day. More on that later: sending a 4k signal down a 50' cable is definitely a gamble though there are cables that can do it at a premium price. Now there's a difference between a cable that "supports 4k" and a cable that really works with 4k. To simplify: any player connected to a display device, such as a tv or projector, will utilize edid, coming from the display device, to determine what kind of signal the player should send. If the display device sends the player info that identifies the display device as 4k then the player will (usually) try and accommodate by sending the correct signal and all is well and good. However, it's also possible that the signal can be compromised by the cable between the player and the display device. So while the display device says "i'm 4k" and the player sends the correct signal at the correct color-bit depth, etc, the cable can cause a loss in which case the player will fall-back to a lower bandwidth mode, such as 1080p (hd) rather than 2160p (4k hd). The best way to test this is use a shorter cable that is certified for the speed and color-bit depth and see if it works. . This 50' cable definitely works with standard hd (1080p) at 50' but does not seem to work with 4k. When playing 4k content the tv reports a 1080p (standard hd) signal coming in rather than a 4k (2160p) signal. I can't complain considering the price of this cable, but still it doesn't seem to support 4k. . Thanks to online store prime i ordered it in the morning and got it the same day in the evening. Remarkable. However, unless i hosed up settings, i will have to try a different cable (or some other approach) to get a 4k signal into the tv. . I will update this review after making some additional tests to ensure i didn't hose anything up in the settings with the player and tv, etc. In the meantime, if you need a 50' for 1080p (hd) this cable will definitely work and provides excellent signal quality to the tv. One thing i should mention is this cable is a bit thicker than most hdmi cables (but not nearly as thick or stiff as in-wall hdmi).

L. Gilmore, Brent

This 15 ft hdmi cable could not transmit a 4k/60hz signal using an optoma uhd50 uhd projector and a uhd blu-ray or xbox one x. This cable does support the other input on my projector which handles 4k/30hz which is allegedly not true uhd and this implies the cable is only operating as hdmi 1. 4. I tried to return the cable 7 days later and for some reason was ineligible for return. Several hdmi certified cables do work on the same set-up. No problem, because i ended up using it to transmit video from my 2017 macbook while sitting on the couch. Note: the usb-c multiport adapter for the macbook pro transmits 4k/30hz only despite what the settings say.

J. Rochelle, Montana says

I bought this cable to put in the wall (it's cl3 rated) and connect my computer in the basement to my monitor two floors up in my office. I had used a longer (50ft) cable before ( to link the computer to a tv and it worked just fine, so i figured that shorter would be just as good. . I was wrong. The signal is so attenuated that the monitor blinks on and off, and when showing black screens it has random noise specks. This isn't with anything fancy, but only 24 bit color 60 hz refresh rate. Nor is there any significant em interference along the cable's path. My guess is that the longer cable actively enhanced the signal somehow, but this 25 ft cable does not, and so it is just too long. . I'm glad that so many other people have had good luck with this cable, but i wish that i had spent my money on something else. For now i think i am going to have to buy a signal enhancer in order to make this work.

T. Elizabeth, Newham

This review is for the 50 foot cable specifically - i have had no problems with the shorter ones and they are nice cables. The 50 foot cable does not support a stable 4k 60 connection. I tested it out on a few different devices (pc with 1080 gtx and ps4 pro) and it was a no go. I used a shorter cable from bluerigger and it worked great. They need to state that you're really tempting fate by pushing the hdmi 2. 0 spec beyond its limits with the 50 foot cable.

I ran the cable from my computer to my t. V. Through the walls and the video feed is slightly spotty. After doing some research it looks like i will need a booster of some kind to run 1080p that distance. Everything i have read states that signal degradation starts after 25 feet. For now i stream through my laptop or playstation wirelessly or through ethernet cable. Other than hi definition movies it works fine, its just not what i bought it for. I have a samsung lcd 48" tv purchased in 2008 with 30, 000 contrast ratio, so in todays standard its a crappy tv, hope this helps.

W. Williams, Oregon

Cable performs marginally at best. I connected this cable to hdmi wall plugs at each end which then connected to the individual components. The signal degrades too much to use the wall plugs. If i pull this cable out of the wall and connect directly to the components it performs ok. I have tried multiple types of wall connectors and none will work with this cable. I finally had to bite the bullet and pull a new cable thru the wall. Update they replaced the cable under warranty and the new one works better. Just a hassle to rewire.

F. Alma, Dorset says

You get what you pay for. Bought two of these for use with a home theater install. Got it all setup and had intermittent problems with the picture, and after complete trouble shooting traced it back to both of these cheap cables. You don't need to spend the cash for the "monster cable" brand name, but get something better than these. Got some replacement cables and all the problems went away. You can get away with cheaper cables for short runs, but if you need the signal to travel over a longer distance, you need some higher end stuff.

S. Emily, Bromley

Tried another cable from different company originally and that didn't work at all with 4k. This once does, but with frequent drop outs. Picture and sound will frequently go out for approximately two seconds at random times. Added the repeater/booster from coween i purchased in an attempt to get previous cable to work. There is still drop outs, but much less frequent. It was unwatchable before i used repeater/booster and now is more tolerable -at least until i can save up to get a cable that works without drop outs. . Not very happy with this cable as i had to run it up and down walls to my flat screen location (and the reason i need a 50' cable). . I am an a/v expert, so this was not user error. I guess you get what you pay for. . Aside from drop outs, cable looked as though it was manufactured well.

Q. Kristen, West Virginia says

This doesn't work as advertised. Dolby vision didn't work so i downgrade the signal to 4k hdr, it would work for an hour then start losing signal. I tried to give it a second chance by plugging it into another port, randomly losing signal after 15 minutes. I replaced with a cheap cable from walmart (not as cool looking) and it was working fine, with dolby vision.

G. Dorine, Portsmouth

One would like to think that this cable would survive for a long time once installed. I ran it up the walls and through the attic (never an easy task). But, just like the one it replaced (from another manufacturer), this one lasted about a year and a half. So, i replaced it this time with an hdmi extender which works over cat5e. It was a little higher, but i've got several of these and they last and last. Plus, if there is a problem, the seller takes care of it right away. The one i got (from online store, of course), is at:. . Https://www. Online store. I purchased the 50-foot version of this cable with the hopes of using it in conjunction with my new apple tv 4k and vizio 4k hdr television. Unfortunately, i have been unable to get the cable to work correctly with 4k - i think it could possibly be the distance of the run that i have installed. I've been able to successfully get the setup to work with two online store basics cables, so i'll be going that route for now.

H. Wells, Croydon

I'm extremely disappointed. I purchased this to run behind our wall in a new construction living room. About a week after the drywall was up, the television started blinking occasionally. We went to check the connections and found the metal part on the end had completely come apart from the cable. Now i'm stuck with a cord behind the wall that doesn't work. I'm going to do some research to see if we can change the end ourselves, but i'm really bummed and won't be purchasing from this company again.

C. Pearce, Havering says

Product claims 18gpbs on the main description summary, but the cable is actually 10. 2gpbs. They list that information down lower: "supports transfer rates of up to 340mhz or 10. 2gbps", even though it explicitly states: "18 gbps / 600 mhz" in main description. They have 18 gpbs listed in two places, even though this listing is for 15ft+ long cords. The cable is technically still high speed and can do hdr in 4:2:0 gamut, but can't do hdr with 4:4:4 (18 gpbs) as the main description seems to indicate.

. Walsh, Middlesbrough

I had high hopes for the cable as i have bought many from bluerigger. This is the first one which didn t work for me. I was connecting a new sony top of the line 4k blu ray player to a new sony laser 4k projector and only got a black screen. I know that 35 is stretching it for 4k signals, but i have had other wires work in the past. Replacing this wire temporarily with a 20 cable fixed the issue so i know the equipment works

M. Mable, Newfoundland and Labrador says

I ordered this cable to connect my denon avr-x1300w receiver to my brand new optoma uhd65 4k projector. The cable works well when i transmit a 4k signal from my roku ultra to the receiver and on to the projector. However, it gives me a blank screen for a 4k hdr signal. I have been experimenting with other methods of transmitting a 4k hdr signal over a 50-foot distance for the past few weeks and have concluded that there are not too many ways of doing this reliably. The one cable that finally worked for me was a $179. 99 ruipro hdmi fiber cable 50-feet long. This is an active cable (be careful when you install it since it is uni-directional) and carries the 4k hdr signal reasonably well (there are some small kinks i am trying to figure out, but it appears to be the best option as of now).

N. Jacqueline, Wirral

I got this cable initially in march of last year. It stayed in the box until i broke a 50ft one that i had. It worked for about 3 months and then had issues on my projector with the fuzzy screen and red lines. Figured i would replace the hdmi first instead of sending in my projector. Got a new cable and problem was gone. I did get the exact same cable again. Time will tell if the problem stays away. So for now i am giving it a 3 stars because of the hassle of running the cable thru the tubing in my ceiling for my projector.

. Angelica, Wisconsin says

For about a year i had a 1080p receiver connected to a 1080p tv with this cable and it worked great, last week i upgraded my tv to a 4k model (lg oled65c7p) and everything was still fine (1080p signal to a new 4k tv). This week i upgraded my receiver to a 4k receiver (denon x4300h) and sent 4k content over the cable for the first time, the result was constantly cutting out signal, snow on the screen and generally just not working. I ran a new cable (a giant pita through the walls) and everything worked fine again at 4k. There were no kinks or anything wrong with the blurigger cable, it just suffered signal loss and audio dropouts with 4k content including using arc. . Buyer beware

K. Maria, Indiana

This hdmi cable overpriced for only 30hz of 4k performance with 50 feet(15m). If you want 50feet(15m), buy others which have better noise performance even though the price is lower. Read description carefully when you buy this long hdmi cable. And one thing never dongle with powerline cables together with this long distance. The signal integrity suffers due to powerline 60hz ac sine wave. This cable also shows noise insulation is not properly manufactured.

A. Heidi, Luton says

Failed at passing a 4k video signal from my ps4 pro, audio works but screen flashes. The cheap provided cable that came with the ps4 works but this one doesn t? cannot return :(

Y. Widmer, Manitoba

Absolute garabage, bluerigger should be ashamed of this product. I purchased these 10ft hdmi cables, as well as two 15ft cables to run through my walls to my rack of equipment, plugged them in once to my matrix switch/tv/xbox one and several contacts on the plugs pushed in on three out of the 4 cables on both ends. Luckily they didn't damage any of my electronics. Wasted a day pulling cables through walls, then back out. If i could give this company less than 1 star i gladly would. Avoid at all costs. . The 15ft cable is also unable to be returned due to seller policy. Do not give this company money!

B. Imelda, Southwark says

Might be ok for lower quality signals, but this cable could not support full dolby atmos and 4k 60hz over arc like the new hybrid fiber optic cable i subsequently bought. Audio drops out every minute or so. Iirc apple tv complained when attempting a 4k 60hz video signal. My run from tv to a marantz receiver is about 33 feet. So happy hybrid fiber optic hdmi cables are available now!

O. Teresa, Hamburg

Bought this to connect my apple 4k tv to my new lg oled tv. Was expecting to get 4k hdr and 4k dolby vision with 4. 4. 2 chroma. It mostly works with 4k hdr and 4. 2. 0 chroma, but not with dolby vision. Often there is "snow" on the screen, other times there is a blizzard, other times it works more or less ok. I feel like i'm getting roughly 2/3 of the image quality that the apple and lg units are capable of. Now replacing this with an hdmi extender that is hdmi 2. 0b, 4k 18 ghz, and 4. 4. 2 chroma compatible. That works fine.

. Josephine, Nord-Pas-de-Calais says

When hdmi cables are advertised by resolution and version number, run. Fast. . I've wasted hours diagnosing technical issues with my home theater. Turns out it's all of the bluerigger cables that i purchased. . Do yourself a favor and buy certified cables from monoprice.

. Allen, Auvergne

I m very disappointed with this product. I do the majority of my shopping on online store and up to this point have never returned any items. However, i will be sending my second cable back for a refund. . I exchanged the first cable sent to me as it only worked once when i connected it from my laptop to my tv. So i requested another cable to be sent. I found that the replacement cable also worked only once when connected from my laptop to my tv. I thought there might be a problem on my end, so i tried connecting another laptop and another tv, and you guessed it, it worked only once. By once i mean when i disconnected and reconnected a little later, no signal could be received. However, both of these laptops could be connected to the respective tvs using a shorter cable, on multiple occasions. I just wanted the longer cable to make things a little more unsightly and convenient. But they just won t reconnect.

U. Brenda, Provence-Alpes-Cote dAzur says

Be very careful as this is not a cable that will pass a true 4k signal. You can pass a stripped down resolution from a 4k player to your 4k display but make no mistake, it will not pass a true 4k hdr signal. The only way to get this to work is to lower the resolution your 4k player outputs which essentially makes it a 1080p blu-ray player.
