Cosmonaut Wide Grip Capacitive Tablets Surface (Studio Neat) 1630

Review for cosmonaut widegrip stylus capacitive

Price was $24.99. Better than the normal squishy stylus pens you see on the market. I've had several where the tips have broken off the metal tip and almost scratched the screen. It is thick like a child's crayon, but it's a sturdy and comfortable hold. Although a bit pricey, it works well on the older versions of ipad and it won't break off like other stylus pens. It'll be your last stylus purchase.

Cosmonaut - Wide-grip Stylus For Capacitive Touch Screen Tablets Ipad Air, Ipad Mini, Surface, Kindle Fire, Etc. Review (fba cos001al)

Shipped super fast! packaging was a little difficult, i had to break the cardboard to get the pen out but not a big deal. And as far as the actual stylus, so far i love it! it isn't like writing with pen on paper, but really feels like drawing on a white erase board on the ipad. Which is what they are basically marketing it as! very precise while writing notes and feels good to hold (very weighted). -L. Mary

Cosmonaut Wide Grip Capacitive Tablets Surface Wireless

PROS
  • Great stylus for note taking on ipad and other tablets for your class and what not. Used it with notability app on ipad and it worked pretty nicely. . Can't really write finely, but notability app has zoomed out section for easy writing, so no worries. . Durability is great. Used it for two semesters and it's still going, unlike my other styli which went bad after a few weeks of use.
  • Best stylus i've ever used for the price. The tip is firm, which i love. It also writes very precisely for it's size. The only problem i found was that after prolonged use, the rubber material made my fingers turn a little black and sticky. However, i had been taking notes with it for many hours while studying. This is a perfect stylus to jot down some quick notes during a short lecture or meeting!
CONS
  • The pen is what i was looking or in terms of form factor - i wanted a large pen for use with gloves - but the sensitivity on this pen is so low as to make it unusable at times. It is simply going back. Nice idea, bad implementation
  • I fell in love with the feel and weight of this stylus. It had a nice feel in the hand and glided smoothly across the screen with no catch. Unfortunately, it did not work with my surface rt. I tried to write and draw and it skipped letters and came across as short lines and dots. It was not conductive with this capacitive screen and would not recommend for any one with the surface rt.
  • But when it came down to it the amount of pressure that i had to apply to my ipad while using this was borderline destructive. I thought it may have been a bad stylus but i had accidentally ordered two of them and the same thing was happening with the second. On the upside, the design is great. It is a really nice weight and i personally enjoyed the fat design of this. However despite how much i enjoy the physical design of it, the practical side of it working properly as a stylus just isn't there so it is hard to recommend it. . Edit. Apparently there have been some issues with some nibs not responding as they should. I think this was most likely the case for the ones i had received. Once this is resolved i would definitely give this guy another shot.

cosmonaut widegrip stylus capacitive Cosmonaut - Wide-Grip Stylus for Capacitive Touch Screen Tablets (iPad Air, iPad Mini, Surface, Kindle Fire, etc.) (Switch to Mobile/Desktop Version)

This is a great stylus and i have been constantly using it for 4 months with no problems. I use it for writing, drawing, and playing certain games. I tried cheaper styli that come in the 3-packs, but those ripped too easily and didn't last longer than a few weeks. It was about time i invest more into a better product. I think studio neat's concept of creating a stylus similar to a dry erase marker was ingenious because indeed writing on an ipad is not like writing on paper. I personally like the weight of the stylus, but others may find it heavy. You do have to apply some pressure for the ipad to register, but it still glides nicely on the screen. Since the stylus is pretty big(size comparable to dry erase marker), it is hard to write small and also the grip has a nice feeling to it, but easily attracts dust. . I did consider other styli such as adonit jot(seems like replaceable disk at the tip can easily be lost), applydea maglus(oddly shaped), and wacom bamboo(the tip was soft like previous stylus i owned). However, i think the cosmonaut better fits my needs. I tend to be pretty abusive with my belongings and it is holding up really well. Overall great product! . . Summary:. Pros. - durable. - nice weight(depends on user). - comfortable grip. - glides on screen with little pressure. . Cons. - grip attracts dust. - it's pretty pricey. - size; it's pretty big making it hard to write small

Click to see NoticeCosmonaut Wide Grip Capacitive Tablets Surface (Studio Neat)"I am a college student and i take all of my lecture notes on my ipad. I have gone through many packs of cheap styluses because i always seem to break the tip from pressing too hard. Although this stylus is very expensive, in my opinion i think that it is worth it. The tip is thick, so i can press hard and it does not bend which makes the precision even greater. I have had this for about a month, but my friend has had hers for the past two years and it is still strong and sturdy, so i know it will last me a long time (as long as i don't loose it)."

(0) Question: Would you recommend it for ipad pro? thanks (mostly for writing)

(1) Question: Will this stylus work on a pc touch screen laptop (i have a lenovo yoga)?

(2) Question: Has anyone else had trouble removing the stylus from the package? mine refuses to come out of the tube which makes it unusable.

Kensington GummyGrip Stylus Kids K97185WW

Kids love playing and learning on tablets. It's fun and interactive. But all those fingerprints mean having to clean off the screen repeatedly. That's why kensington has developed the gummygrip stylus for kids. It not only keeps the screen free of smudges, but in the shared-use environments like a classroom, it can also reduce the spread of germs. The gummygrip has a firm tip that's highly durable, so it won't wear out even after extended use. Because kids tend to put things in their mouths that they shouldn't, kensington designed the gummygrip only with non-toxic materials in an ergonomic shape that's ideal for small hands. A lanyard loop allows the stylus to be worn like a necklace, minimizing the chances for the stylus to get misplaced. It also fits perfectly into the stylus holder of the kensington safegripamp; trade; rugged case.

The F.A.Q. for cosmonaut - wide-grip stylus for capacitive touch screen tablets ipad air, ipad mini, surface, kindle fire, etc.

Overall, the stylus is great, has a nice weight, and does simulate a whiteboard marker feel. My reason for taking off one star is that with a screen protector, this stylus is not as reactive to the touch screen. Also, the coating on the outside of the plastic wore off pretty quickly and now when i write on my screen is makes horrible noises. Really annoying. If you choose to write on the screen without a screen protector, it is totally fine and makes no noise. As for me, a tutor who uses the ipad as a whiteboard with an anti-glare screen protector, it is annoying.

A number of questions have been asked here.

Others have done a fine job praising the quality of the product and i agree with all the five stars. However, my 5 stars are for the customer service. . I contacted the customer service e-mail address found on the website and was replied to within 2 hours on a sunday. Did you read that? a sunday. 2 hours. Not only was my issue resolved beyond my satisfaction, but in a manner so timely i fear it sets the bar too high for rival companies. If i was cranking out styluses i would close up shop now, because you can't compete with the cosmonaut.

Best cosmonaut wide grip capacitive tablets surface (studio neat) in review

I ordered this along with the el cheapo stylus pens (see my other review) and in my opinion i do not notice much of a difference in the ability to write or draw on the ipad. I use it mainly to take notes on the ipad. The fineness ability of both are about the same. The difference comes with this pen being a bit heavy, thick and gives you more of a heavy fake crayon effect. To me, i can write with a fat pen or a thin pen, it does not matter. The quality of the cosmonault feels good though compared to the cheapo styli. I do think this one will last longer, although i will update the reviews when my pens break. Do you really need an expensive stylus? or can you just get by with the fraction of the cost? i think i am leaning towards the cheaper ones. This pen also does not have a clip or anything to put it in, other than the cardboard box it came with. It may roll off the table as well. So if you do misplace it or lose it, it is more costly than the cheapo ones to replace and you may feel more hurt losing it. Something you may want to consider! just one star off for the price (could do better).

Q. Harrison, Northern Territory says

A coworker was using their cosmonaut and i was intrigued. The design was fascinating and fun, even the packaging is interesting with either a rocket ship box (my coworker) or a tightly fitting tube covered in space iconography (this product). . This stylus feels good, heavy in a solid way. Rubbery in the way that ensures a firm grip, not a peeling coating. The tip is rounded and medium sized, so it may not be ideal for the finest of detail work, but i can write, sketch, interact with ease on everything from ipads to small screened smartphones. . Everyone has a favourite type of pen, and similarly everyone will find their favourite stylus. For me the cosmonaut feels like a broad nibbed fountain pen compared to the cheap plastic roller-ball feel of most pen stylus.

R. Sarah, Leeds

Item was as described and even better than described. The stylus is the perfect weight, and the thickness of it doesnt bother me at all, its actually very very comfortable. And oh so precise, precision really surprised me. And i find myself always giving myself an excuse to use it. I read in some reviews that it doesnt write so well, it gets cutoff etc. I found that it works best when the ipad doesnt have a screen protector. I had a screen protector and the stylus didnt seem to work on it so well but as soon as i took it off, it worked like silky smooth perfection! and so precise i was literally grining with delight! oh, and did i mention that its durable? i have two little ones under the age of 3, and of course they've gotten their hands on it, and its been chewed on, thrown, dropped, covered in food, and after one wipe down it looks like new. So yes i have fallen in love with this and it surpassed my expectations. I have no dislikes and love everything about this, i highly recommend this to notetakers, artists and parents.

I've used three different styluses one of which is the jot pro. The jot pro affords a lot of precision and comes closest to a 'pen' for the tablet screens, but it makes quite a bit of noise when writing because it has a metal 'nib' holding the plastic disc that comes in contact with the screen. The cosmonaut on the other hand is very smooth to write with. It is clear that the pen/writing resolution on the ipad is nowhere near a real paper, and so a stylus that tries to be more like a pen does not seem natural. The cosmonaut, on the other hand, feels surprisingly natural to hold with it's wide body. Additionally, compared to other styluses, it is very robust (mostly because of it's ridiculously simple construction), and feels great in the hand because of the rubber grip and good weight from of the aluminum rod. . Another interesting thing about the cosmonaut is that you have to apply a bit of pressure for the touch to get recognized, so you can more the stylus around the screen without any pressure and the touch will not be recognized. This is very handy when sketching.

I ve been on a mission to find the best stylus out there (primarily for my ipad pro, secondarily for any other touch screen devices we have - focusing on ipad pro). If you do a google search for the best styluses for the ipad pro, you will find that each list has 3 styluses in common. They all rate the apple pencil first. They all include the 53 digital stylus pencil, and they all list the cosmonaut. . They fill in their other ratings with active styluses like the heiyo active stylus, and other styluses that require a charged batter and or a bluetooth connection. . I have gone through them all. It did not take long to realize that capacitative styluses are far superior to active styluses. I was conflicted about the cosmonaut as 25. 00 for a capacitative stylus seems excessive. I love the way it feels, handles, and writes. I think my daughters will enjoy it also. It is thick and good for little hands. I ll end up with more of these. . If you are looking for a styluse that will not only be fantastic for handwriting and art but also run your tablet smoothly, look no further. The cosmonaut is the best out there.

I. Shayna, Bournemouth says

This is my second purchase and i bought three of them. This stylus is that good. . If you are an artist who uses your tablet pc mostly drawing something, this stylus is for you. Don't go for wacom's bamboo. Wacom is second to none when it comes to tablet. But its. Bamboo stylus has such a soft tip that you'll have harder time getting the satisfying level of. Accuracy and precision in your drawing. . And cosmonaut's grip is almost perfect. It's just that after you use this for a couple of hours, . The black material will rub off of your middle finger. Just a little bit. Nothing much to worry about, though.

W. Pearce, Shropshire

I use my stylus for taking notes with the notesplus app on an ipad. I don't draw or sketch, i write block letters, not cursive, so most of the markings consist of short strokes. I've tried a lot of styluses, and so many of them fall victim to the same problem: i'm writing quickly and often the ipad doesn't detect the stylus until it has already moved a short distance. This "initial stroke gap" is very disruptive when rapidly taking notes. . The cosmonaut is one of the few i've used which does not have this problem. It is comfortable in the hand and lets me write quickly and reliably. It looks a little goofy (like the thick crayons given to very young children), but it's worth it to me to have one that works well.

S. Erickson, Lincolnshire says

I was one of the kickstarter project backers where this stylus was introduced. Since then i've purchased at least ten more - mostly for friends who tried it out and wanted their own after that. Hands down it's my favorite stylus and i've tried many. I do a lot of note taking on my ipad and i keep coming back to this one. It's heavy enough to be perfectly balanced but not excessive. The rubber grip is heavy duty and doesn't slip through your fingers like some aluminum "styli" will. Highly recommended. Customer service is great too. Studio neat answers you emails directly and quickly if you have a question or problems.

H. Shawna, Rhode Island

Love this stylus. Works great with the penultimate app on the ipad.

V. Lara, Swindon says

This stylus is perfect. Other styli have a soft tip that is prone to breaking, but not the cosmonaut. The firm tip allows for any amount of pressure you apply during handwriting. Its "wide-grip" feature makes it easy to handle even at strange angles in the dark. While that's not terribly important to most, i use it while at work as a paramedic. I've tried the much more expensive bluetooth styli for accuracy but have found their battery life horrible. I've already ordered a second as a backup on the off chance that i loose the first one. . I've given the cosmonaut four stars because it is somewhat porous and difficult to disinfect. I'm afraid the anti-microbial wipes we (and every hospital i've been to) use could damage the plastic. That shouldn't be an issue for non-medical uses which, admittedly is not it's intended purpose.

C. Adrienne, Merton

This gem of a little stylus is perfectly weighted, supremely comfortable, has substantial hand feel, and is simply a joy to use on my ipad 3. It is best suited for artwork like paper53 in my opinion, although i use it for note taking constantly in apps like pdf expert and notetaker hd. It is by far my favorite stylus. It does take a bit of extra effort if you use a high friction screen protector like the zagg invisible shields. I prefer using a matte finish screen protector - tech armor (available here on online store) makes some of the best and they're super affordable and lifetime guaranteed in my opinion; fingers and styli flow effortlessly over the smooth finish. I've had the same techarmor screen protectors on my iphone 5 and ipad 3 since i first bought them. Also please note that while the cosmonaut tip is non-replaceable compared to other styli, it lasts an incredibly long time. I've had my cosmonaut for several months now and it's still going strong. What's more, it's quality construction gives you that sort of f-150 build quality sensation . No need for kid gloves with this stylus. This fella is the tonka truck of styli. I just throw it in one of my backpack's pockets and forget about it. And best of all . Despite the playful russky space-race name, this little cosmonaut is made in the good old usa by american workers (which gives me the warm & fuzzies). :-)

J. Guest, Rochdale says

I must have purchased close to $100 worth of various styluses for my 3rd generation ipad, and this is hands down the best one i've come across. Believe me, i've tried just about all the big-name popular ones out there, and this is the best. I purchased mine last june (2012), and in the last month the rubber coating on the shaft has started deteriorating. When using the stylus for writing or drawing, i notice black rubber on my finger nail and on my finger, and sometimes i see it rubbed in areas on my desk or ipad. That rubber must come with a very thin coating of some sort, and it's obviously broken down but isn't visibly noticeable so you wouldn't know it was a problem without the evidence it leaves behind. I'm thinking about buying plastidip or some other product to give it new life, but because it leaves such a mess on my hands that i've been forced to not use it anymore. Such a shame, because this is the best stylus available.

. Meredith, Niedersachsen says

I have tried about 5 different types of stylus for my ipad in the past year and my conclusion is that the best two stylus out there are the followings:. - this one, cosmonaut which has the best feeling when you hold it. It is really a pleasure to write with this pen. The only improvement i would suggest is the tip. The tips is probably the best rubber tip i have tried yet. Much harder than the standard rubber and it seems indestructible. But it is rubber! . Which means that it gives some sort of resistance when writing. Instead i would recommend a metal fabric tip like the new trent limir. . - the new trent limir: this pen has the fastest and smoothest tip of any stylus i have tried. Very fast writing. The stylus is kind of short and thin, so there is a little bit of discomfort when holding it. The cosmonaut is the master in comfort. . I use both stylus described above. The new trent limir is good for fast note taking. Cosmonaut more for sketching. . So in conclusion, . If cosmonaut replaces its tip with a metal fabric, it would look less cool, but it would be just perfect. Or the new trent can just get as bold and comfortable as the cosmonaut.

O. Anonymous, Rheinland-Pfalz

A bit awkward, but, i must have it for my arthritic hands.

B. Terry, Cheshire says

I utilize the reviews for every product i buy but i've never taken the time to actually write reviews. Decided this is probably a good place to start. I absolutely love this stylus. My biggest concern in buying it was the width of it but after receiving it i can say that it is extremely comfortable in my hand and writes like a charm. . I ordered it because i thought i had lost my wacom bamboo stylus (which i've subsequently relocated). I really like my bamboo stylus but can say with certainty that the cosmonaut stylus has a better feel and writes better on my ipad. I use the penultimate app to take notes throughout the work day and this stylus is perfect for that task. . I initially read about the cosmonaut on a great review article on the verge . . They rated others a little higher than the cosmonaut but i give this one 5/5.

F. Connie, Languedoc-Roussillon

This is a nice thick and meaty stylus that feels great in your hand when doing fine things as well as swiping. Its bigger than a construction pencil but not as thick as a highlighter pen and about that lenght. Tip worked great until i got a new ipad and with a quick email to tech support, i got a new tip in the mail which worked perfectly! great stylus, great support!

Y. Dorothy, Tower Hamlets says

I use the ipad mainly in educational settings, writing/drawing apps for little kids. This is the perfect size, feel, and nonfussy/indestructible design for use by very young kids and other sticky fingered types prone to clumsiness (me). I've only had this a few days, but am already a huge fan. . Ease of use was my number one concern in picking out a stylus. It shouldn't be harder to use than your finger. The cosmonaut can actually be easier and more reliably registered on the ipad touch screen, at least for my 1st gen oldish ipad whose screen has seen a lot of wear and tear and for the kids i happen to work with, whose fingers can be less than spic and span. Less pressure is required than when using a real life crayon or pencil, and movement is smooth and effortless! very pleased so far, though time will tell if it breaks or not.

K. Donna, New Jersey

After reading all the reviews about pens for ipad i decided on this cosmonaut. I am satisfied even though i am realizing i am not using it as much just because ipad isn't meant for a pen. There are few apps where i actually like it, like drawing or taking on the fly notes. The pen response is quick, great and precise, good quality for drawing and i was used to draw in college so i was really impressed about the precision of lines and all of that. Maybe it feels a little fat which gives a wide grip but it takes some time to adjust. Once you get that feeling it will be ok to use it on everyday basis as i did for few months. Some pens require you to push a little but not this one and i guess they made it fat and a little heavy just for that reason so you don't spend extra energy pushing the tip on the screen. The pen is durable and feels if good quality material. I had it in my backpack with no case for months and it still works as well. Overall i am satisfied about the quality reason why i give 5 stars but still feel a pen is an extra unnecessary tool for an ipad.

Z. Audrey, Kentucky says

I spent a very long type deciding to purchase a stylus. I read expert reviews etc. I finally (and it is not normal how long i spent before a purchase) ordered this stylus and the bamboo one as well. They are both very good. I love this one because it is so sturdy and great to use for notes. I think more than one stylus is necessary given your needs. I worried about scratching my screen etc. This is also great if you have children or grandchildren. It is a must have not as you only stylus - but if you want to utilize all the ipad and others offer and want to use for certain purchases. This is sort of like a black sharpie everyone should have. Oh and excellent writing in all widths the program you use offers. Plus you will never need to worry about replacing the "nib" or any part of this stylus.

G. Janice, Isle of Wight

This is far and away the best stylus i have ever used. I purchased it for my ipad, but now use it on my phone as well. . The stylus is substantial-comparable to a crayola marker (with the lid off), and weighted like a high-end pen. Unlike other hard-tipped plastic models, this stylus has a smooth, slightly tacky rubberized grip. The tip is soft but sturdy rubber and has some give. When writing, the stylus glides across the screen smoothly and naturally. You won't have to worry about scratches and, best of all, the soft tip ensures that you don't get that plastic-on-glass tapping sound characteristic of cheaper, hard-plastic styluses. . The cosmonaut stylus works brilliantly on the ipad. Selecting and copying text is a breeze, and the seamless writing experience transforms handwritten note-taking apps into useful tools. For my phone (samsung galaxy s3), i use the stylus instead of my finger when writing in swype mode. I hated swype autocorrect, but this stylus increased my accuracy and solved the problem. . As a bonus, the cosmonaut stylus is not only functional, but beautiful-an excellent example of good design. . Highly recommended.

Top cosmonaut widegrip stylus capacitive Review

Disadvantage and Critical reviews

. Aldana, Poole says

I personally do not enjoy writing with the cosmonaut because i prefer to write notes with a fluid motion. I take lecture notes for 6 hours straight on some days, and it tires my hand out very quickly with the cosmonaut. I also tried the alupen by just mobile, and that stylus was far better suited to my writing style, and far more comfortable in my hands for a large period of time. I like breaking out the cosmonaut occasionally to draw, but i sometimes get frustrated with how much force i have to press down with in order for the ipad to register it. This was consistent even after a breaking in period, unfortunately. Still, if you like the feel of big crayon in your hands, this could be the pick for you.

V. Claudia, Alsace

I gave this product a 1 because i've been looking for a stylus that is conducive to writing on a tablet. The videos and some of the reviews supported that this would be ideal for my needs. It does have a firmer tip, but it is still a little squishy like other stylus pens. This leads to breaks in what i am writing. It is supposed to have no lag on the tablet but it does. In addition, using this like a stylus to tap on icons is useless because of the firmer tip. I didn't like it.

J. Imelda, Islington says

The stylus okay. I just didn't realize it was going to be so thick. I would rather draw with a stylus that's a little thinner pen. However not sorry i made the purchase.

F. Delgado, South Gloucestershire

It has a nice comfortable grip and feels natural when in your hand; but, it is rather heavy & not easily portable. It also is mediocre with regard to the sensitivity and amount of pressure needed.

T. Rita, Nebraska says

It's not a responsive as i would like. I would prefer to give this 3. 5 out of 5 stars just because it has a great weight but often misses when it comes to registering on the device itself.

A. Sharon, St. Helens

Liked it and the quality seems good but most of my cases have built in screen protectors that this dis not work well with with them.

B. June, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern says

I bought this under the impression that this would work on my ipad air that i've outfitted with the otterbox defender case, which has a built-in screen protector. Research online gave me no surefire answers, but i bought it anyway after hearing glowing reviews of it. Unfortunately, this does not work on that screen protector! the best you can do is press really hard on the screen to get some response. The screen is just too thick, i guess, because with regular screen protectors for tablets and smartphones, it works just fine. In fact, it's quite comfortable to use, but keep in mind the big diameter of this stylus if you're going for precision when drawing (in other words, seeing everything that on the screen as you draw it). Hence the name, 'wide-grip'.

Y. Carmen, Windsor and Maidenhead

Less accurate than using your finger. Not great for kids either due to the way you have to hold it to make it detect your touch

N. Valdez, Knowsley says

Very hard to write with on ipad. I had better response with a freebie stylus.

. Jackson, Missouri

I've heard so many great things about the cosmonaut stylus. I loved it the most amongst all other styluses. Only one problem though. The stylus is not compatible with the lifeproof fre case. The case has a screen built with it, and the stylus just doesn't work smoothly. You have to press hard to get it working. Some other styluses, the cheaper ones work so much better with the lifeproof case.

P. Ruff, Iowa says

I had read and heard great things about the cosmonaut, and while i had a stylus that fit my needs, the boxwave evertouch capacitive stylus, part of that fibermesh has begun to wear off, because i use my stylus every day for note taking on my ipad mini with goodnotes. I wanted to see if the more robust, marker style of the cosmonaut would be better. Alas, i received it and was sorely disappointed. It requires much more effort to write, and therefore slows the writing process down. It also is very heavy, and while it feels good in the hand, the aluminum point inside the rubber tip seems very strong, to the point of if you put enough pressure (which is needed to write) on the glass, it feels like it could shatter. The rubber that coats the grip also seems to rub off onto my finger tips, and i have black smudges on my fingers. . I suppose this are my personal preferences, as nothing seems wrong about the stylus, but i was very disappointed that i did not end up liking it more. It had so many great reviews, but it just isn't for me. Sending it back to online store and taking the shipping deduction from my refund, bummer.

C. Veronica, Merton

I love love love the girthyness of the device and the rubbery feel for grip. Only issue is that i have to sometimes mash the darn thing on my phone or ipad to get it to work effectively. My little $2 stylus works everytime with a light or heavy touch. With spending $20+ i would expect better functionality.

L. Cathy, Ontario says

The stylus works well, but it almost seems as if i am writing with a giant sharpie marker. Same build, but at half the thickness and we would have a 5 star product.

H. Denise, East Sussex

When i ordered cosmonaut to use for my new ipad i thought it will be the perfect stylus i've ever had. Especially its not a cheap one and its from studio neat who i consider to be an innovative company. To make it short here are the cons:. - some times it doesn't register the touch, especially if you are drawing and need to move pretty fast to get specific effect (like in paper 53 app). - its big and pretty heavy which makes it hard to take it with you everywhere you go. - it easily attracts dust so you need to always clean it with water. - its tip still not that small unlike the impression i got when i saw it in images. . The pros:. - its good for note taking. - however its big and heavy it still feels very good in my hand while using. - it looks awesome and different :) :). . The conclusion is cosmonaut is an above average stylus, buy it only if you want to hold a stylus that looks different.

K. Elizabeth, Missouri says

Purchased this because a friend has one and raved about it. It is nice but just not for me. It was way too fat for me and awkward to hold. You also had to press down hard in order to write. I have heard many people love it and it seems to be a good product, but just be careful if you are picky like me

. Erin, Bayern

Send it back. Hard to use and just didn't work good at all.

I. Widmer, Corse says

I was sold on the idea that a dry-erase marker sized stylus would be the best for taking notes on my ipad. However, the reality was that this stylus was awkward to use and carry around, and was not reliable. . Awkwardness: in order to get the best results on the stylus, i found that you had to hold it so that the point was perpendicular to the screen. This was not a comfortable way to write. I have a cheap squishy tipped stylus which is the size of a pen and can write in the position of a pen. . Not easy to carry around - the stylus is large, but if you're considering it you already know that. I was willing to look past that, but not with the other issues. Any folio you buy for your ipad is unlikely to accommodate this size of a stylus, so you'll have to hold it separately. . Not reliable - even in the perpendicular position, i would find that it would often drop text. When you used it like a normal pen, it would fail to recognize text 25-40% of the time. This was just unacceptable for a stylus in my opinion. . Bottom line: i've used better, more reliable stylii which are far cheaper.

O. Barbara, Kingston upon Thames

Sent this back, it wouldn't write unless you pressed really hard and i do not have a protective cover on my screen either. Also it seems to only work it you hold it perfectly perpendicular to the screen.

. Olga, Redcar and Cleveland says

The cap got stuck on the end and i couldn't get it off, this was on the first day. Boohooo. The business end still works though once i peeled off the cardboard cap. I love the heft of this stylus. I feel like i'm harold w his purple crayon. Good for note taking. But heavy, not so good for a teeny purse or shallow pocket.

U. McCarthy, North Carolina

I love the wide grip and the somewhat heavy feel of this stylus. Based on the reviews it seemed like a good all-around stylus for a reasonable price. The tip isn't all that thick despite the nature of the stylus itself, but the problem is i can't see where i'm writing - where the tip is going to land on my ipad. It gets annoying even playing draw something so i don't use it much.

E. Rowe, Worcestershire says

I had an ipad air and purchased this because it was cheaper than the $50 stylus i was looking at, and got good reviews. I had to push so hard to get any response out of it. That won't work well for sketching, which is what i was hoping to use it for. It doesn't move smoothly across the screen either. That traditional stylus i have works much better than this. I had high hopes for it, but it's not for me. . Sending it back.

Z. Guest, New Mexico

I watched the youtube review on 10 best stylus for the ipad. I bought 2. This is one. It is as you see bulky. I use it for some games. I don't like it for writing. I have arthritis in my hands so i prefer the larger hold but this is heavy and i drop it alot. I'm not crazy about it but i'm keeping it. Granddaughter likes it. It is responsive only at the very tip, so i'm sure why it is so heavy. Weight lifting for the fingers i guess.

R. Williams, Yukon Territory says

Just didn't work for me. I just had to press way too hard on my 10 inch tablet to make this thing register. Maybe it's designed and tested for smart phones which have much smaller screens and thus require much less pressure to register with the glass screen. I don't know. The impression i had was i should not have to press that hard to get it to register a pen stroke. . It's clearly well built and from the other reviews people are clearly happy with it, thus, 3 stars. . I don't think i like these things generally because i feel like they won't let me select nearly a fine enough point on my screen to be useful. The tips on all these kinds of things are thick and hollow, not at all pencil like, and they need to be depressed using some considerable force -perhaps depending on your screen size- and quite some distance before they finally register with your screen. When they finally do register, the tip of the thing is now just a fat, smushed face against your screen unsuitable for, say, precisely selecting text which as it happens is about 90% of what i spend my time doing. I can do this easily with my finger, so the issue is with the stylus. . If you just want to stab at big application buttons on a smart phone's screen, then maybe this stylus is just the thing for you and you'll love it like a lot of the other reviewers. For me, i gave it to someone with a smartphone who tried it and thought it was just awesome. So there you go.

X. Teresa, Cumbria

Don't buy , it's not even made of good quiality and poor palm rejection . Also, it's just over priced

D. Dorothy, New Jersey says

For the price, you'd think the tip wouldn't "wear out" so quickly. Three of these styluses later, they're still very good and there aren't many options that rival the cosmonaut. Just know that if you're a frequent user that writes a lot, the tip will wear over time and you'll need to replace it.

W. Wayt, Massachusetts

You wouldn't think something like this could break, but apparently it can. It worked upon initial receipt, but about a month later failed to function. Unfortunately, this seems to be solid state and there is nothing to adjust. Very annoying.

M. Allen, Stockton-on-Tees says

I have purchased this stylus for use on my ipad 3 for the following applications; paper and disney creative studio. I have given this product 3 stars because of the following reasons. . Pros:. The chunky form factor of the product and it's all rubber coating gives me a good grip on the stylus. It's size is about the girth of a dry erase marker and feel good in your hands. I love the weight of the stylus as well, as it gives you a feeling of quality. I like the packaging as it comes in an almost lipstick style casing and i currently keep the stylus in it to keep it protected. . Cons:. It's not a great stylus, and it's nub at the end is not as precise in all applications as you would need for drawing or smaller writing. I found that i needed to hold the stylus more upright versus at an angle to improve the accuracy on the screen.
