Review for kindle leather cover does fit

Price was $23.99. Don't know why some people don't like this. I used to have one with a clasp with my old kindle and was a bit worried about this not having a cover that stays in place but thought to myself, do real books have covers that stay in place? well, no. So, this is as close as it gets to getting a paperback-like experience on your kindle. I've been buying and collecting books since i was 7, so, given that i've been reading for 30 years now, and i liken this to reading an actual book, should say a lot about the way online store has designed this cover. Now, if you're from the younger generation who's never even been to a library (library? like, what's a library? ), then you might want one of the more funkier ones. Given as how i have a lazyboy, a leather id holder, and a leather bag, this case goes well with my leather fetish as well.

Prologue

Love this cover! i am very tactile, and enjoy the feel of the smooth leather in my hands, and the saddle tan color is beautiful. I have had this for over a year now, and it has held up wonderfully. It's sustained a couple of minor scratches, but for me that just makes it a bit more broken in and is no worse for the wear. It holds the kindle very snugly. It is very simple and minimalistic, just what i was looking for. The inside of the cover is a soft textile, very comfortable to hold as well, and all of the controls are easy to access with the cover on. Highly recommend! Kindle leather cover, black does not fit kindle paperwhite, touch, or keyboard Review (53 000007)

Aside from a few things that could be better, i am satisfied with this cover. Like previous reviewers pointed out, this does scratch very easily. I have babied it, never tossed it into my bag and have a special spot for it in my house. Yet it has several scratches from my fingernails brushing up against it while reading. It has a slim fit, doesn't add a lot of weight and is easy to hold. I feel like the color is true to the picture as well. It stays closed when sitting flat. I love how it slides in instead of having elastic bands holding it into place. . Only things i would change:. More durable, scratch/wear less easy. Have some sort of magnetic closure to keep it closed and secure enough to toss in my bag. Instead i still carry it in my hand everywhere i go. Less expensive -Y. Diana

Kindle Leather Paperwhite Keyboard Digital Device Accessory

PROS
  • A lovely cover that fits beautifully to protect my valuable kindle. No, i don't read at night, so i don't need the light. The product is quite expensive purchased new, but a quick look at the "used" products turns up satisfactory examples at 80% off the "new" product. Don't go generic. Go "used. " prior to buying this, i stopped by staples for a better deal, could find none and was informed by a sales staffer that the "one size fits all" generics would send my kindle flying to its early grave. My "used" cover was indistinguishable from new and delivered promptly too. I won't mention any names, but this vendor has near perfect service ratings. So long as you can stand a black leather one, you can have it delivered for under $10. 00 instead of the "new" price of $36. 00 plus delivery.
  • As a soldier in the army, i am in the field a lot. I bring my kindle with me every time. The battery life is unquestioned, but this is not about the device itself. This review is about the cover. This cover the best for my needs. It keeps the screen fairly clear of dirt and dust. I am stationed in fort bliss, sand and dust are a major concern here. This cover kept the amount of dirt on the screen to a minimum. I am on my 3rd kindle now (how about a ruggedized kindle, online store? ) and have had the most success with this cover keeping my kindle damage free. The cover can not completely hold up to an active army soldier's activities, but who reading this review has 50 lbs of gear to lug around and is getting in and out of a huge truck 10 plus times a day with their kindle in their cargo pocket? this cover has lasted over a year with out any real negative impact on the kindle itself. I am going to give this 5 stars because if it can with stand the abuse i give it, you'll never need another kindle cover. In closing, the cover, for an average user, will be more than needed to protect and keep the kindle clean. I highly recommend this. (my statements are my own and do do reflect any official position of the us army)
CONS
  • This case is pretty nice. The leather is good quality and it's made by online store, so the kindle snaps securely into it. There is one major design flaw, however: it won't stay closed at all. It flops open, exposing your screen to damage. A tab with a snap/velcro/magnet or an elastic band would be immensely helpful, but as it is, i resorted to wrapping it with a rubber band. Don't buy this if you carry your kindle around with you in your bag or any place it could get scratched.
  • My major complaint with the actual product is that it scratches too easily. I haven't even taken it out of my house and it has three pretty major scratches across the cover. I have no idea how they got there. I haven't dropped it or anything and i don't have kids to blame. The mysterious scratches really annoy me. . Also, the cover is really flimsy. It doesn't feel like it would hold up well if i were to put it in my purse. . The only reason i got this cover was because i was sick of waiting for the lighted version. And honestly, i don't miss the light that much. . It's just an okay cover.
  • Cover is ok but too expensive at least for what we got in exchange. . It fits perfectly (it's designed to fit kindle so it would be strange if it didn't). But the leather is quite vulnerable. I always carry it in my backpack in separate pocket with no sharp items but it already have some scratches. For almost half price of kindle i expect something with much more better quality.

Online store's kindle leather cover protect your kindle our sleek, form-fitted leather exterior looks and feels great, while the soft microfiber interior protects your device from scuffs and scratches. The cover is designed to fold back, so you can read comfortably with just one hand. Secure your kindle our innovative cover was designed to specifically fit your kindle and secures your device without any hinges or straps. Simply place your kindle into the form-fitted interior of the cover and then gently press the device into place. On the go thin, lightweight, and durable, this cover is perfect for taking kindle wherever you go. The stylish, genuine leather exterior and form-fitted interior provide ultimate fit and protection without adding bulk.

I love the way the kindle snaps into this case and fits perfectly-it is truly "made for kindle. " i love that it adds so little weight, that my verso clip-on light can clip right over it, that it opens fully so it can be held with the front folded fully back, that all the controls are flush with the edges of the cover. . But i do wish it had some sort of closure. I sewed some 1/8" elastic that i will use when i need it to positively stay shut. One star off for no closure (i'd remove only half a star if that were an option). . Now we come to the colors. Was some designer in the middle of a depression when the colors were chosen? color taste is subjective, i know, but black, dead maroon, or jarring yellowish olive green? not a cheerful tone in the bunch! how about a deep royal blue, forest green, or teal? or even a rosy red? c'mon, online store!

Click to see NoticeKindle Leather Cover, Black Does Fit Kindle Paperwhite, Touch, Keyboard (53 000007)"I wanted a cover to protect the kindle from occasional bumps and bangs and also keep dust off of the screen. Actually, i wanted something that would protect the kindle from the eight-year-old boy who most frequently uses it. This cover does exactly that without significantly increasing the size or weight of the kindle. It's easy to snap the cover onto the kindle and then it stays in place. The front of the cover opens up easily and stays out of the way while you are reading. There are no magnets or anything to keep the cover closed, but it doesn't need any. I wanted the cover to protect the kindle when it was tossed in a bag or backpack or placed onto a table a little harder than necessary. This item is perfect for that task. Thanks to the cover, despite some pretty determined efforts by the eight-year-old, the kindle is still working great."

Kindle Paperwhite E-reader - Black, 6 High-Resolution Display 300 ppi Built-in Light, Wi-Fi - Includes Special Offers

*update*it's been about 4 months since i got my kindle paperwhite and i still love this little beasty as much as i did the first day i got it! she's holding up amazingly strong and i have absolutely no complaints at all! my screen is still working just fine and has no color variation. And umm. Let me just praise the battery life of this contraption because it is absolutely amazing! i have been reading on my kindle a lot. I mean at least 1-2 hours a day and every few days the long sits of 4-8 hours of reading occur, and still the battery life is great. Since getting my paperwhite, i've only had to charge it 3-4 times. I've had this thing for over 13 weeks now! that's amazing! i will never regret buying this. Probably the best online store purchase i've ever made! *. . Just got my kindle today for my birthday and i love it! i was worried i wouldn't like it that much or that i'd get a dud like some have received but luckily that was not the case for me! this is my first kindle and i am so excited i finally started giving ebooks a try. . I went to test the paperwhite at best buy before buying it to make sure it was what i wanted. The one on display seemed glitchy and had poor lighting on it that was blotchy. Made me extremely nervous to order one. But with how much reading i've been doing with ebooks, and the fact that my iphone and laptops are making my stinking eyes feel like they want to bleed off of my face (yes, off of my face), i decided to take the leap. So glad that i did! . . My kindle i received is perfect. The colors are right where they should be, with no blotchy spots like some say and crispness between the white and black text. My kindle is so much more responsive and faster than the one i tried on display. If you are going to try them out in a store first, keep in mind they probably aren't as nice as the one you will get! there's a night and day difference in the test one and the one i bought. I am so excited to be able to finally read ebooks in the sun outside and to read in bed at night without killing my eyes or keeping the husband up. . The set up is extremely easy. Once you connect to wifi, you can sign into your kindle/online store account or it will already be signed in for you and boom, there are your books in your library! the set up of it is also really easy and basic too, and steps you through it from the very beginning. No idea why some people say it's confusing, because it is not. If you can work a smart phone, you can surely work a simple kindle lol. . The only thing i am surprised and a little disappointed about is that it does feel heavier than i thought it would. It's nothing bad at all and i don't believe it will hurt my hands holding it up in bed, but i was hoping for a little less weight in a device so small. But at the same time, the weight does make it feel very sturdy, and the entire thing is weighted evenly so there's no tipping one way or another with the device. . This paperwhite is a dream, and i am so happy that i decided to give kindles a chance. If you're a firsts time kindle buyer, do it! i don't think you'll regret it one bit! but even if you don't end up liking it, the worst that happens is you send it back. But it's worth a shot definitely! with how much you can save on books by downloading free ones from online store (i have 234 books in my library and i have only bought 4 of them. Much of this is thanks to discovering bookbub. Com that shows you free and marked down books from online store) and the fact you can rent ebooks from your public library (i love to do this! no wait time between sequels either! ) is amazing. So you pay $119 for the device and then boom: basically free books or books under $5 forever. . Give this wonderful, well made and fun device a chance! i'm happy that i did! . . (note in the pictures that the lighting is perfect, no blotchyness, and up close it truly looks like a book page! )

Kindle Paperwhite 6 Inch 4gb Ereader (b00oqvzdjm) FAQ.

I am an avid reader. I resisted getting a kindle for years because i felt it would ruin the book reading experience. I also figured that i could just use the kindle app on my tablet when i wanted an e reader. I was so wrong. The batteries for down too quickly using the tablet. The battery on here lasts for weeks! so much lighter and more portable than traveling with a ton of books. I love it so much that i have two now. One that i keep by my bed and the other in my purse. So i don't have to worry about forgetting to bring it (i'm am obsessive reader). It automatically syncs your progress from one device to the other. I highly recommend that if you read even one book a week, that you get kindle unlimited. For only $10 a month you have an endless world of books at your disposal. So worth the money. I read a minimum of three books a week. It has saved me a ton of money already. -Notice from H. Wayt, Gloucestershire

I fought myself over the idea of buying this because i did not like the idea of all my books being digital. I love the feeling of a book in my hands and looking at my library shelves filled with hardback books. What i found though is with the kindle it is much easier on my eyes to read this and it is so convenient when i am traveling for work that i can just take this with me on the road and i instantly have access to more books than ill ever need on that trip. I still purchase hardbacks of books that i find truly amazing after reading them on the kindle so that i can support the author and keep building my physical library but thanks to this kindle i have been able to read far more books and much cheaper than ever before. You will find that thanks to it being easier to read you will read far more and with less strain. I highly recommend getting the leather case as it will feel similar to a leather bound book in your hands and it will not feel as foreign to you. If you have been fighting buying one of these for some time like i was you should buy it. After a few book purchases at 2$ the kindle will pay for itself and if you have online store prime you will find plenty of free books that are great that you can read. Worth every penny.

- W. MoniqueReview updated september 17, 2015. . As a background, i am a retired information systems professional and i am writing this review from the perspective of being a long-time kindle user. I have all the current e-readers and fire devices from online store including the basic kindle, the 2013, 2014 and new 2015 paperwhite, the fire hd6, fire hd7, fire hdx7 and fire hdx8. 9. This review is for the 2015 all-new kindle paperwhite. The attached picture shows the 2014 kindle on the left and the new 2015 kindle on the right. Here is the summary of my initial impressions of the 2015 model versus the 2014 model. . I am somewhat disappointed in the 2015 version as there is not a huge improvement over last year s model. The paperwhite made many improvements from its original first generation 2012 model to its second generation 2013 model, especially in the display and processor area. The 2013 model came with 2 gb storage, a wonderful display, a great battery and was the e-book workhorse. The second generation 2014 model changed by only increasing storage to 4 gb. The third generation 2015 model increased the display resolution but reduced the battery life slightly. . What comes in the box: a paperwhite device, a quick-start guide and a short usb cord. Online store still does not supply a power adapter. . Size: it s the same identical size as the older paperwhites. The weight has been reduced slightly from 7. 3 to 7. 2 ounces, a fraction of an ounce, most likely because of a smaller battery. The good news is that all cases that fit the other paperwhites will fit the 2015 version! . . Display: the resolution has been bumped up to 300 ppi, equivalent to the voyage. However, in practical use, i can t tell the difference unless i put an earlier version next to the new version for comparison. Unfortunately, when i place them side-by-side, i noticed that the new paperwhite is not quite as bright as the older models when set at the same brightness level. This is more noticeable at lower settings. Also, my kindle has a slight shadow area along the bottom that appears as a small gray smudge and isn t quite as evenly lit as the rest of the display. It is very small but noticeable. The logo on the bottom of the screen is now shiny black against matte black on the plastic case instead of being displayed in silver lettering. It's difficult to see except when viewing the shiny "kindle" reflection at an angle to light. (september 2015 update: the kindle logo is how i tell my new 2015 paperwhite and older paperwhites apart. They are that similar! ). . Battery: the battery of the 2013 and 2014 paperwhites are rated a third larger than the new model. And it is noticeable! when operating simultaneously, the new pw battery drains much faster. It is currently rated at 6 weeks of ½ hour average daily usage versus 8 weeks for the older models. That specification translates to 21 hours of use versus 28 hours of use for the older models. . (september 2015 update: i was on a week-long vacation trip but forgot my chargers. I had the 2014 kindle with me, and as i was on vacation, i read a lot. The battery lasted-barely-the entire vacation. Given the shorter battery life, the 2015 model would have lost power before i came home. Normally, this shouldn't be an issue for most people as the 2015 battery does last a long time. But. I am so spoilt by not having to carry a charger on trips, even long trips. ). . Storage: nothing has changed. It comes with the same 4 gb of storage. Mine netted 2990 mb free space from the factory. This number will vary slightly from device to device depending on the actual hard drive. . Hardware: alas, there is still no audio with the paperwhite. So you still can t play songs in the background or listen to audible books. If you need audio features, you may want to look at the kindle fire lineup as audio capabilities are not available on the paperwhite, standard kindle, or the kindle voyage. (september 2015 update: i still wish i could listen to audible books like you could on the kindle keyboard. ). . Wifi: nothing has changed. I had hoped for an upgrade to 802. 11ac or at least add the less crowded 5-ghz range of wifi. If you are in a wifi crowded area, you will need to be closer to your router to download books. While the paperwhite does not use a lot of bandwidth, it does need to be able to communicate with a router for whispersync to work and to download books. . It is possible that the new kindle paperwhite either has a slightly faster processor, or more likely, the memory has been upgraded from 512mb to 1024mb to match the voyage. I have over a thousand books installed. To keep track of what i have, all books are added to collections, such as reading queue for those i have not read but want to read, and already read for those books i have already read. In addition, my books are also categorized by genre collections such as crime/mystery/thriller, scifi/fantasy, "historical fiction, " "romance, " etc. Categorizing my books helps me considerably when i wish to find a new book to read in my library which i have not read and what i want is a mystery novel, but not a scifi. When i download a new book and try to add it to the appropriate collections for later enjoyment, the process can be extremely slow, so slow that sometimes, i am not sure that i have even touched the check box in the add-to-collection screen because it takes forever to respond. The 2015 kindle seems to be faster in that area. . (september 2015 update: i've noticed that the speed is directly related to the strength and quality of the wifi signal. I am in a crowded wifi area and although i can get a fairly good signal, the speed definitely degrades when i am not in the same room as the router. I still wish it had a 5ghz antennae as that bandwidth is less crowded and faster. ). . Software: the user interface on the new paperwhite is identical to the old paperwhite except that the new paperwhite comes with the bookerly font installed. Those who own one of the new fire tablets already have the bookerly font for comparison. Personally, on the paperwhite, i like the caecilian and palatino fonts as much as i do the bookerly. It seems that the best font for reading changes depending on the book and the magnification of the font. (there are still eight size magnifications. ) however, the firmware version installed with my 2015 paperwhite was a version behind. The firmware version installed on the 2015 model is kindle 5. 6. 1. 1 (2634130033) versus kindle 5. 6. 2. 1 (263439002) installed on my 2014 model. . (september 2015 update: online store has updated the software on all their kindles so the bookerly font is available on all the devices. ). . With special offers or without? if you buy a case that automatically shuts the device off when closed and turns on when opened, i strongly recommend paying the extra $20 for removing the ads. If you have special offers, the kindle still needs to be swiped from the lock screen to get to the page of the book where you left off. If you do not have special offers, when you open your case, you are immediately brought to the book and page where you stopped reading. No lock screen! having a kindle paperwhite without special offers is wonderful. Open up the case, kindle turns on and you pick up right where you left off. Close the case and it turns off. No extra finger swipes! this is true only for the kindle e-readers. The fire tablets continue to open up to the lock screen which must be swiped irrelevant of whether you have special offers or not. Note: i received the advanced order of the 2015 paperwhite on june 30. I was not able to order the device without special offers. Normally, you should be able to pay the upgrade difference online to remove special offers. Unfortunately, the device that i have received does not have an option to remove special offers for this device only! i do not know if this option will be available for all new orders or if they will correct the oversight in the future. So, order the device without special offers if you think you will ultimately want that because it is possible that you will not be able to remove them in the future. . (september 2015 update: online store fixed the option to remove special offers. And i still recommend that you buy it without special offers if you use a case that automatically turns it on and off. ). . Summary for those looking to upgrade:. This is what has changed from the 2014 model. Plus: higher resolution screen with bookerly font. Possibly quicker when managing large numbers of books. (september 2015 update: bookerly font is now available on all kindle devices including older paperwhites). Minus: a smaller battery and shorter time life between charges. No power adapter. Neutral: the "kindle" logo at the bottom of the 2015 model is now black on black instead of the silver color at the bottom front of the 2014 model. (september 2015 update: the kindle logo is how i tell my newer and older paperwhites apart. ). . The verdict: the new paperwhite is still the state-of-the-art e-ink e-book reader. The only things i can think of to improve the paperwhite is to add a power adapter, a longer usb cord, bring back the longer battery life of the earlier model and perhaps make it waterproof. . (september 2015 update: the paperwhite is still my favorite reader. I also like the voyage but not enough to justify the huge price difference. ). . Although the paperwhite is only an e-reader and not a tablet, there are other considerations:. * no distraction from email. * no distractions from text messages. * no distractions from phone calls. . Should you buy? if you own last year's paperwhite - i don't think it is worth the upgrade. If you do not own an e-reader or have a 2012 or earlier kindle version, definitely get the paperwhite. It has the best mix of features for the price compared to the other kindle e-reader models. If you are considering upgrading from the current basic $79 kindle, definitely get the paperwhite. If you are considering whether to get the voyage or the paperwhite, ask yourself, "is getting the page press area at the edge of the screen worth an additional $80? " if not, get the paperwhite. . (september 2015 update: i really like both the paperwhite and the voyage. But i can't tell you which one to buy. If you are the type that will buy a cadillac instead of a chevy, buy the voyage. It is definitely a very nice reader. Personally, i like the paperwhite. Even though the voyage is slightly smaller and lighter in the hand, there is something about the paperwhite that makes me grab it instead. ). . For reading, i prefer the paperwhite over all the readers including the fire tablets, the basic kindle and even the voyage. It s optimized for readers and reasonably priced. You can throw it in your purse or pocket for traveling, even for reading in the doctor s office waiting room. If you forget to charge it overnight, it will still have enough juice to get you through the next day or two. You can read it on the beach in bright, bright sunlight or at night under dark, dark moonlight. Whether you sit on the front porch or hide under the bed covers, you can enjoy reading books with the paperwhite. In addition, there is a huge selection of case styles and colors to trick out your kindle to match your personality and reading style. . If you want to save a little money, online store is currently selling the 2014 model for $109. Although it doesn t have the bookerly font, it does have a better battery. You can t go wrong with the 2014 model either, especially when it is slightly cheaper. . (september 2015 update: my older paperwhites have been updated with new software and now all have the bookerly font. Unfortunately, the 2014 model is no longer available for sale through online store. ). . For newbies: you might want to explore the following features. . Vocabulary builder: the online store kindles have a tool called vocabulary builder which is not available in the fire tablets. Vocabulary builder is supposed to help you learn new words while you read: words you look up in the kindle's dictionary are stored in vocabulary builder. You can review those words, test yourself with flash cards, even see where in a book you highlighted the word and remove the word from your list when you ve mastered it. . Page flip: when you're on a page, swipe up from the bottom, and a slightly smaller pop-up of the page appears. The pop-up has page turn arrows to go back or go forward in the book (you can also just swipe the pop-up page). When you're ready to return to your original page, press the "x" in the upper right corner of the pop-up, and the pop-up page goes away. . Highlight: the highlight feature allows you to highlight (in black-and-white of course) a particular passage in a book and save it so you can go back to it at a later time. You also have the option of turning on an option that shows you other popular highlights from other readers of the book. This is a very useful feature, especially for non-fiction books as 99% of the time, the highlights other users have made point out very important sentences and paragraphs in the book. Note that this feature does not show every reader's highlights, it only shows the most popular ones and even tells you how many readers have highlighted a particular section. This can be turned on or off if you find it distracting. . -

I'm a bit of a technophobe, still using a flip phone, so i had to mull over buying a kindle for a few years before pulling the trigger. I have bought kindle books in the past with the idea of reading them on my laptop, but discovered that i dislike reading books on my laptop. . It took me about 20 minutes to get acclimated to reading on the paperwhite. I went through the instructions which are pretty simple, then started on one of the free classics i had bought, bram stoker's "dracula, " and just started reading. In no time at all reading on the paperwhite felt totally natural. If you are not a technically inclined person, like me, do not fear the paperwhite, it is really easy to use. . I spend 1/2 of the week away from home, lots of travelling, so this thing is going to be a godsend, i just wish i had bought one earlier. . Also if you do buy one, might as well purchase a case for it at the same time, instead of putting in a separate order for a case.

Ikross Reading Readers Tablet Textbook (885157913584) FAQ.

Comfortable light to read with. Something buyers should be aware of before purchasing is that whilst it fits my kindle keyboard model nicely, the way it attaches is not completely secure. There are a few reasons for this. The first being the aesthetic curved corners on the back of the kindle means it can rotate forward with very little effort. The second being the clamping pressure of the light is quite low (probably to avoid damaging a kindle / book it is attached to. It does not impact on the ability to read a book on the kindle at night. Whilst i have not tried this, the low clamping pressure and ability to detach from the kindle may be a positive if like my wife you tend to fall asleep and occasionally drop the kindle. Or it might break the light so something to consider. Being black it blends in nicely too so it is not distracting. It is nice to use. -Notice from K. Rochelle, Doncaster

I knew it wouldn't fit properly with the cover on (and the cover's great; i've reviewed it separately and panegyrically and have no intention of sacrificing it), so the fact that it attaches only very loosely to the thin lid of the cover bent behind the reader and tends to slide and wobble is entirely on me. I *could* choose to use this pyrotechnically bright light without the cover, and it would fit just fine. Honestly, lacking credentials in ophthalmology, i have no idea whether it's a good idea to stare into the reflection of an ultra-bright led for hours on end, but i do know that i haven't found it comfortable. So i have no legitimate complaint other than that i personally find it less-than-optimally subdued in the illumination it provides, and to be fair, since ymmv and it both works and is inexpensive, i'm just going to give it a 4.

- H. HadleyI often have to read in bed with the lights off. My eyes need just a little more light than the lights in the kindle to read comfortably and this light does the trick. I keep my kindle in a hard cover. The light clips on as shown in the pictures. The clip works well and holds the light. The light is not top heavy. Folds up nicely when not in use. Very pleased with my purchase.

Great little light! i have a smaller kindle and my husband has a larger one and it works for both. It is small enough that i can just throw it in my travel bag and it doesn't take up too much space. I can also clip it on to my laptop if i need some extra light. Haven't had it long enough to talk about battery life but even with aaa batteries it is still lightweight. It is very bright on the high setting so i have mainly used the low setting. I'm thinking of getting a second one so that i don't have to share with my husband!

Protective Leather Kindle Generation (53 003139) FAQ.

I love this. No more fumbling for the on/off button. And seems to be really good protection. My only quibble is that there could be a pocket for a piece of paper or two and a place to stash a pen and a stylus. -Notice from K. Anonymous, Middlesbrough

Exactly what i expected. Usually this is not a big issue when purchasing an item. However, online shopping has been a craps-shoot when it comes to quality. Online store has, for me, become the standard in quality in online shopping. Thank you.

Protective Cover Kindle Generation (53 003140) FAQ.

Ahhh, this case is so cute and light. I always get compliments on the bright, pink color! the material is soft, at first i was afraid that it would get dirty very quickly, but it gets tossed from purse to purse and in and out of luggage (i'm a flight attendant) and it's holding up very well! also, surprise feature (for me, anyway. I didn't really read the product description, i just saw the color, price, and that it wasn't hinged or strapped and just bought it lol): opening and closing the cover actually turns the kindle on and off and prompts you to swipe to start reading so you don't have to keep pushing the little button on the bottom! felt like christmas in july! don't judge me. It's the little things lol -Notice from A. Cindy, Wiltshire

Love the color. The case itself is a little thin, i worry about dropping my kindle in this. It is stylish and it definitely keeps the screen clean and scratch free. It looks great on the device! the case fits my kindle perfectly! . . Cons:. 1. Price

Protective-cover-kindle-generation-(53-003140) set picture

- G. FranklinThis cover is good, but for the money, it should have a magnetic clasp to secure the cover in place. And it doesn't seem deep enough to hold the device -that is, the device is not flush with the tray and sticks up over the tray about a sixteenth of an inch. Despite this, my kindle seems secure in it, but it seems like it should fit into the tray completely. I thought about returning it, but it didn't seem worth the hassle. It seems to work just fine. I like online store's cover for the paperwhite so much more.

Absolutely no issues, looks and feels great. Opens and closes perfectly. Great protection for our kindle. There is no pop out light on this cover. It doesn't latch, but neither do books and has not been any kind of issue for the past months of use. If you want to push the cover crooked, yes it can show the kindle edge but that is being dramatic. This is a nice magnetic open close off on cover and protects the screen.

Kindle Paperwhite Leather Case, Onyx Black - fits Paperwhite generations

This is my 2nd case purchased for a kindle. I loved my 1st navy one but, unfortunately, i left my kindle in the front pocket on a recent delta al plane & it was never turned into loss & found. This time i wanted a color that i couldn't miss - navy just blended in - fushia is beautiful & bright.

Our genuine leather cover was engineered to be the lightest and thinnest protective cover for your kindle paperwhite. A fusion of soft, premium textured leather and an innovative, form-fitted interior secures kindle paperwhite without any hinges or straps. The cover automatically puts your paperwhite to sleep when it is closed and wakes your device upon opening making it so easy to jump back into your latest book.

Kindle Paperwhite Leather Case, Onyx Black - Fits Paperwhite Generations (53 000128) FAQ.

The kindle in general is absolutely the most wonderful creation. Always an avid reader, i scoffed at the idea of trading actual physical books for books loaded into an electronic gadget. Three xmases ago, my husband took a chance and gifted me with one. When i opened the box, i immediately forced myself to exclaim surprise and "joy". I knew that i'd have to give it a try because my husband had done his usual "tecchy" research and was excited that i might actually like it. I had just purchased a beautifully printed barnes & noble edition of vanity fair. Over 800+ pages. I enjoyed holding the book in my progress through the 18th century novel. I was 100 pages in. So m. Showed me how to search, buy and download books. Whereupon i located vanity fair and clicked on purchase (& download). I assumed it would be at least an hour to completion. So wrong, so wrong! maybe 3 minutes at most. I then clicked through story, located where i'd left off and continued reading. I can honestly say that i've almost never read another physical book. My kindle is my constant companion. I no longer mind being in lines or waiting for appointments. They are excuses for me opening my kindle and rejoining my story of the moment. Incredible device and online store service is terrific. 5 stars! -Notice from P. Valencia, Florida

My husband is an avid reader and loves his kindle. I bought this cover for him and he loves the beautiful color and the magnet keeps the cover closed and secure. Very beautiful cover! i like the color as well but i chose the tan cover for my kindle.

Kindle-paperwhite-leather-case,-onyx-black---fits-paperwhite-generations-(53-000128) set picture

- . ColleenNice case holds my kindle well. The cover stays closed which is a plus. The material is grainy but helps with grip especially if you hold it with one hand like me. The grip is also important because the screen is sensitive and it's not hard to slip and accidently touch the screen. The size isn't much bigger than the kindle which is good because it's a little awkward to hold with one hand.

I am in love with this thing! i am an avid reader and the paperwhite has been great. It is easy to use and is kind to my eyes! buying from online store was great (as usual). I got the reader only four days after ordering it, i charged it for the required charging time and my prime account picked everything up and ordering books is a snap! i am very happy with this purchase! thanks, online store!

Kindle Lighted Leather Cover, Black Kindle 5th Generation, 2012 model - does fit current Kindle, Paperwhite, Touch, Keyboard

I previously owned a kindle keyboard and the equivalent lighted leather case. I never was a huge fan of that case, but i liked always have a light. . This case is designed much better. The kindle actually fits in to the case. The back side of the case is recessed and the kindle kind of "snaps" in to a cavity, as opposed to only hanging on to two brass hooks, like with the older model case. The light is also better on this new case. Not only does it seem brighter, it is centered. On the old case, you pulled it out of a corner so i always felt the bottom left corner was never very well lit. . This case is definitely slimmer than the old case though which is good and bad, depending what you want. I won't feel the need to take the kindle out of this case in well-lit areas like the old case, because this one is much lighter and just seems to become one with the device itself. Also, the front cover much more easily folds around for one-handed holding. The electric connection is infinitely better too, which consists of 2 small contacts points on the back of the kindle. My "hook" connectors on my old case were getting destroyed and i had to use pliers to straighten them out more than once. . You do sacrifice some safety though. There is no cord or latch to hold the front cover down which could be an issue, although not a huge deal for me (yet). It's also much thinner and lighter so you would assume not as protective, although having the device actually cradled with a rubber bezel surrounding it may make up for that. . Lastly, and the main reason i dropped a star off is price. Online store takes a hit on most of their devices because they plan to make money on digital content and accessories; well, they're definitely making their money on this thing. For $50 it's almost as much as i paid for the $80 kindle. Leather or not, this shouldn't be anywhere over $35-$40 (and $20-$25 for the unlit version). But i guess i was willing to pay for the light feature, and when you price out a case and a light separately, you'll probably pay close to that anyway.

Online store's kindle lighted leather cover protect and illuminate your kindle our sleek, form-fitted leather exterior looks and feels great, while the soft microfiber interior protects your device from scuffs and scratches. The cover was designed to specifically fit your kindle and secures your device without any hinges or straps. Simply place your kindle into the form-fitted interior of the cover and then gently press the device into place. No matter where you take your kindle, you'll never be without illumination thanks to the integrated reading light. Our innovative design allows the built-in led light to draw its power from kindle, so no batteries are required. Never be without a light the integrated high-quality led light is optimally positioned above your kindle to provide an even light across the screen. Designed specifically for kindle's paper-like display, adding brightness without adding glare to read comfortably anytime, anywhere. When needed, simply flip the light out and it automatically illuminates, eliminating the need for a separate power switch. To turn the light off, just snap it back into place or close the cover. Since the light draws its power from kindle, no batteries are needed. On the go thin, lightweight, and durable, this cover is perfect for taking kindle wherever you go. The stylish, genuine leather exterior and form-fitting interior provide ultimate fit and protection to read comfortably with one hand. You'll also never be without a reading light; no batteries are needed since the light draws its power from kindle.

Kindle Lighted Leather Generation (53 000022) FAQ.

I use a workaround for this that is quite simple and works. I just take 2 squares of toilet paper (no really) fold them in half then fold them in half again until i have two rectangles and tape them to the sides with a bit of space between the edge where the opening for the page turn buttons are and the toilet paper rectangles. Then i put my kindle in, and page turn buttons are easier to use :). . I bought this 'used' for $33. 94 from online store warehouse deals. The description said 'like new' and it was. The product itself was pristine, even the packaging looked good - it just had minor creases on the cardboard but that was it. Delivery was really fast, too. Ordered on a saturday, arrived in ny on tuesday. . I already had a purple cover for my kindle 4 so i bought this black one to match my kindle 5. The color is a really deep black, really smooth. And slightly matte leather. Fits the kindle 5 perfectly and doesn't weigh as much as other covers. The light is really bright. Sometimes i wish it could be dimmed a bit and it does shine into your eyes when you hold the kindle the wrong way. Still, it's the best cover i've found for my kindle and removes the need for a separate booklight. Plus, i. Don't have to worry about buying batteries since it draws power from the device. . I do have a paperwhite, but i like the page turn buttons on my basic kindles and this cover is a necessity in low light environments. -Notice from R. Garner, Stockport

I purchased this case in december of 2013. This case was purchased as a gift for my ex, but the case was nice, and had a wondrous feel to it. It wasn't much larger than the kindle, which is nice compared to tablet cases being usually drastically larger than the tablet on many occasions. The lighting on this case is very calming, and isnt too bright. I recommend this case to anyone that has the kindle that matches it. Slightly pricey, but if you have the money, sometimes its worth justifying.

Kindle-lighted-leather-generation-(53-000022) set picture

- . DorothyI read a lot. And i find myself using the light a lot. The only complain is that the light got a little wobbly after constant usage. I don't mind because i use this thing quite a lot and a little wear and tear is going to happen. I charge my battery once every two days and i find that with the wireless off it makes the battery last longer. It was a little on the pricey side but i can't feel bad about convincing my stepmother to get it for me for christmas. And with the expedited delivery i got it the next after noon as i was headed home from work. . Pros:. The nonexistant glare has save me from the light induced migraines that my ipad and iphone triggers. . Cons: the right page forward button has become stuck and i have to press realllllly hard to get it to change.

This is a really excellent product, although i must say that i was worried considering how many poor reviews i read, even though i knew most of them were just whining about product availability and price. . The front cover is thin, but i don't worry about it bending. It looks nice, with appropriate materials inside and out. It could use something to help it stay shut, but i don't really see that being an issue. It is meant to be moved 180 degrees to get it out of your way. . The difference between this and the "touch" version, which i bought for my sister, is that this has cutouts for the side buttons, thankfully. The back is basically a rubber composite surround that holsters the kindle very nicely. . This cover doesn't detract in any way, but adds basic protection and the functionality of the light. I've been using the light surprisingly often, and find it comfortable, although when using the light, i do make it point to hold the kindle parallel to my face because holding it even somewhat perpendicular will have the light shining in one's eyes. . Price: sheesh! yes, it is expensive. And i am one of those people that won't buy something i want even if i can afford it if i think that someone (or a company) is trying to screw me. But this is a quality product, and to me it is worth it. I like to buy something one time and always be happy with it. That seems to have been the case with this cover. I do take price into account on my reviews, but in this case, it does not lose a star. . Availability: who knows. Maybe online store pushed it back just to tempt a few without patience to buy something else just to hold them over (i went on a couple of flights and lugged it around in its original packaging during the time i was waiting). But i doubt it: online store may be a giant company, but they never seem to be underhanded (if only because they know it's not a good business model). More likely they had a schedule slip, but still wanted to release the kindle well before the holidays. Anyway, well worth the wait.

Once again i have nothing but praise for online store! i love this cover to my kindle. I love the pretty blue color, but i really, really love the fact that when i open the cover the kindle turns on and when i close the cover it turns the kindle off. It's a mystery to me how it works - all i know is that it does work! i love it! it looks so classy. Oh, and i was supposed to get it day-after-tomorrow, but i've already had it about a week! i love that it comes earlier than they predict. I wish all companies did as well as online store!

- W. AliceMagnetic clasp confuses kindle software, so it shuts off or down irregularly without warning many times, a real pain - have to reboot kindle to get things running again.

Kindle is good but the cover is not good like what i think to be just lower cost performance than my expectation. However, it is still a good cover to protect the screen of my kindle.

All New Kindle Ereader Glare Free Touchscreen (b00zv9pxp2) FAQ.

I love the idea of a kindle however features that are supposed to work on the kindle with online store prime such as certain book loaning, don t. I contacted online store and after two months of sending them screenshots and doing anything suggested, they could not figure out the problem and gave no other suggestion other than too bad. It s really disappointing that they can t trouble shoot their own products and when they do and can t solve it the offer no other help. Extremely disappointed with online store as a whole after this issue. . After writing this post, i was contacted by an online store customer support rep who was able to quickly solve the problem. I am beyond satisfied with the product and would definitely recommend it. -Notice from . Eleanor, Ile-de-France

There are sadly a lot of negative reviews on here, so i though i would add my positive one. . I had a second-generation kindle many years ago, and it has since stopped working. I finally decided to buy a new one. . I chose the basic kindle because that's exactly what i wanted - a bare-bones e-reader. I have no need for a tablet or anything of the sort. This kindle delivers on that front in every way possible. . At first, i thought i would miss the page turn buttons, and dislike the touch screen. However, i have been delightfully surprised. Tapping the edge of the screen to turn the page is incredibly easy and less intrusive than pushing a button, which was always a nice little jarring reminder that i wasn't, in fact, reading a paperback. The small, quick tap of my thumb on the edge of the screen has become almost like a reflex and i don't notice it anymore; it feels natural. . I do slightly miss the metal backing of the older kindles; it made them feel a bit sturdier, whereas this basic kindle is just hard plastic. However, i suspect that using a metal casing would up the price considerably, and i feel that the cheaper price of this basic kindle far outweighs that slight drawback. . I bit the bullet and bought one without the special offers. I do not want ads intruding my kindle experience, even if they only show as the screensaver or on a bar across the bottom of the home screen. It is just distasteful to me, and the extra 30$ was worth it to me to avoid the ads. . I do not need or want a case for my kindle. I do not like to read with a case on, and it would be cumbersome to remove my kindle from its case every time i want to read. That being said, this version of kindle does seem quite fragile, as mentioned before, so when i carry it with me in my purse, i am covering it with a knit beanie hat for now. Eventually i will buy a small soft pouch to store it in; i have seen them for sale here on online store. . Even though the kindle seems fragile, the size and weight of the device is a definite advantage while reading. It is so comfortable to hold that it just disappears in your hand and you forget that you are reading from an electronic device. It really is a cool experience. . As to the complaints of the screen being dim-it is no dimmer than previous generation kindles. No, there is no back light. It looks just like a printed page, and can be read easily in all lighting conditions - whether by lamp or by sunlight. If you find that you are straining your eyes, you can simply adjust the size, font, and spacing of the text to something that better fits your eyes. I personally do not read in bed with the lights off - i fall asleep while reading like that. However if you are a frequent bed-time reader, you will want to get the paperwhite, voyager, or oasis models. . If you've never had a kindle before, why should you get one? simple. Anyone who loves to read should get one. Now, which model is your personal choice; i have already explained why i love this one. Online store has millions upon millions of books that are able to be purchased and downloaded to the device. A good fourth of those available are free, and another good chunk are $2 or less. So if the price of the device itself makes you hesitate, it can easily end up paying for itself if you read a lot of free or cheap titles. . More and more titles become available for kindle every day - when i got my original 2nd gen kindle nine years ago, the harry potter series was unavailable to kindle. Now with my new device, it is. The half-blood prince is the first book i downloaded for my new kindle, since that is where i am at in the series right now, and i could not be happier. They even preserved the chapter illustrations for the e-reader format. . Kindle has the ability to store thousands of books, so you shouldn't have to worry about running out of storage. If you do, however, the overflow can be stored on online store's cloud service, so you never have to worry about giving up any of your old favorites. Kindle also gives you the ability to highlight passages, make notes, and bookmark pages. Your kindle will also always remember what page you left off at, in every book that you have stored on it. Kindle also has the ability to look up words in the dictionary or thesaurus. It really brings reading to a whole new level. . Well, that about sums up my review of this model of kindle, and kindles in general. To put it simply, this kindle does what it is advertised to do, and does it, in my opinion, flawlessly. If you want a tablet or a reader with a back light, stay away. If you are new to kindle and/or want something basic, this is a great device to start with.

- H. CampbellAs a long-time, die-hard reader, i was anti-kindle when they first came out. "i want to see and feel the books, blah, blah, blah. " i was hooked the first day. This is so easy to use and even though you think reading hard cover books is easy - there are small things i used to fight unconsciously. For instance the light from the lamp would perfectly shine on one side of the book, but would cast a shadow or make the facing page have inadequate light. I would mindlessly flip my wrist to compensate for this. Reading outside in my swing - no glare, no overexposure. If the dog starts running around eating my shoes or the phone rings, i can just drop the kindle and voila! - my place is saved. No bookmarks or turning upside down needed to make your place ever. The fact that i can change the size of the font-. The list goes on and on.

I like my new kindle very very much - it is so much lighter and i have my first book started so at this point i like it a lot - have a lot of things to learn on it but reading from it is what i enjoy the most. I still miss my old one because the case had a place for me to but some small items - pictures, etc to share with my friends - but i know as time goes one i will get to know this one better and as time goes on i will be much more familiar with it.

The F.A.Q. for kindle leather cover, black does not fit kindle paperwhite, touch, or keyboard

I am delighted with the leather cover. The quality of workmanship is fine. The snap-in fit of the back cover is great. As with your other covers, the felt inner surface of the front cover allows me to rest the kindle securely on my lap. The only thing that would inprove the cover would be a contoured front cover, similar to, but not as deep as, the contour of the back cover. (needless to say, without the stiffened rubber snap-in part) this would make it easier to slip the kindle into my back pocket. It still fits, but it requires some manipulating. I couldn't give a 4 1/2 and the un-contoured front cover kept me from giving this otherwise high quality product a five star rating. Thanks for your continued ewcellence, . More than a year after purchasing this case for my gen4 kindle reader, it is still holding up well and the wear on the "leather" makes it look classier than ever. While this may not offer the absolute best protection, it has kept my kindle scratch and crack free after numerous drops on our stone floors and much handling by my young sons. This case does it's job well and looks great while it does it. . Highly recommended!

Best kindle leather cover, black does fit kindle paperwhite, touch, keyboard (53 000007) in review

I bought my black kindle cover from "expressmedia" used with a status of like new for $23. 58. True to the description, there are only a few light wear marks on the back and inside of the case that you can barely see so i feel it is accurately "like new. " i will probably put that much wear or more on it with just a few days in my purse. . It is quite thin and lightweight for a cover. I thought the leather would be heavier, but it's not. However, the surface is very smooth and nice to touch. They really did a good job making sure they wouldn't add excess size and weight to the kindle. Part of the appeal of this model kindle is that it's so light and easy to carry with you. It's not ruggedly made so it won't survive rough handling, but i bought this just to survive rides in my backpack and my purse as i commute, or splashes of food and water as i eat while reading. The cover will also help protect the screen in case my cat steps on it. Because it's made by online store and custom fitted, the buttons are all exposed perfectly flush with the case so that it's almost like you're not even holding a case. As far as i'm concerned, now that my kindle is in there, it's never coming out! . . I do agree that $40 is quite a lot for a case that doesn't have a closure or light. However, i am very pleased and satisfied that i bought mine used from expressmedia for quite a bit less which is why i'm giving it 5 stars. Would i consider this worth $40? no. But i definitely think it's worth $25 or less. If you are on the fence about buying this cover because of the price, i would recommend getting a used one "like new" instead.

I've had this case on my kindle for about 3 months and i think its great. I have the regular kindle and it fits in perfectly. The part that holds the kindle in place is hard rubber around the edge and snaps in easily. The back is smooth study feeling plastic. The front cover is decent quality leather that doesnt look too cheap, although the leather is a little bit soft and impressionable, so after having it in my purse daily, the front cover does show some scratches and indents on it. Doesn't bother me too much though. There's microfiber on the inside front cover to protect the screen. Other reviewers have mentioned that the front flap feels like a cheaply made piece of cardboard with some leather glued to it. I mean, that's definitely what it is (cardboard with leather glued to it) but in my opinion, it feels sturdy enough and doesn't look cheap. Flap folds back nicely and is really easy to hold with one hand. The case does not make the kindle feel bulky at all and other than the minor scratches on the front, has shown little to no signs of wear and tear and i commute with it daily.

First, let's not turn this into a debate about the price. Haven't we had enough of that nonsense with the book reviews? below, is a detailed review of the product itself, with just a minor comment on the price/value. . Design:. This is online store's best designed cover to date. The kindle easily and securely snaps in place - there are no hinges or annoying elastic corner bands and all buttons and the power port are fully accessible. In addition, they removed all types of straps and cords. These were a problem on previous models for a number of reasons: they broke or snapped after regular use, they made the cover uncomfortable to hold, they added extra weight/bulk, and they were very unattractive. The front cover is weighted to stay closed when the kindle lies flat (it won't pop up). To be clear, there is no strap, clasp or magnet to secure it in place (just like the front flap of a hardcover book). Kindle users like myself were looking for two things: sleekness/thin fit and a case that was aesthetically pleasing that didn't scream "kindle nerd, " and they delivered. This case is slim, tight, and ultra sleek. After all, the main attribute of this new kindle is its small size and weight. No one wants a cover that will negate that. . Quality:. The cover is made of good quality leather and has a nice feel. The inside of the front cover (the part that touches the screen when closed) is a microfiber material designed to protect the screen and avoid scratches. The section that holds the kindle in place around the perimeter is hard rubber and grips it very well. This is not "cheap" or poorly made at all. I feel like i got my money's worth. . Comfort:. It's extremely comfortable to hold, whether with one hand (the cover easily flips back and was designed to do so) or with two hands like a physical book. It easily fits in a coat pocket, briefcase, or purse. Again, people were fed up with all the straps and such so the fact that they got rid of them adds to the comfort factor. As for protection, it's good enough to prevent scratches and dings, but if it takes a big fall it probably won't help. Don't buy this case if you're looking for hardcore protection. . Value:. Just a brief comment that's not affecting the of stars: yes, this costs 50% of the device itself, but until online store decides to price the accessories as aggresively as the kindle, we're going to have to deal with it. Besides, if you're going to use it regularly you'll get your money's worth. I will say that at $59. 99, the lighted cover is quite costly and you need to weigh the cost against how much you'll use it. I can't read in bed as i'll fall asleep in 5 minutes, so it's not an issue for me. . Summary:. An excellent, extremely thin and form-fitting case that addresses all the problems with previous versions. Highly recommended.

E. Pearson, Lorraine says

I purchased this case to accompany my new kindle (6" e ink display). I am wildly impressed with the quality. The case is a firm rubber frame that cradles the kindle with a smooth leather cover. The inside of the cover (opposite the screen) is covered in a soft suede-like material. My favorite feature is that it really replicates the experience of reading a fine, bound book. The case does not add any extra bulk. (in fact, even as a person with small hands, i find the extra 1/8" helpful in maintaining a grip on an otherwise slippery little device! ). I would recommend this product to anyone looking to get an understated, elegant case for their kindle. If you plan on "abusing" your kindle (tossing it haphazardly into the bottom of your heavy backpack, dropping it onto asphalt frequently, etc. ) i would suggest finding a more durable case (perhaps one that covers the screen). . Overall, a wonderful purchase!

N. Rose, Norfolk

This cover fits kindle classic like a proverbial glove. The rubber sleeve encapsulates the outer edges of the device in such a way that no debris can get underneath, and the rubber does not infringe on the beautiful frame of the device. The cover has perfect cut-outs for page turning buttons, the on-off button and the charging port. The cover is thin and sparse adding only minimal weight to the kindle (in contrast to kindle keyboard's cover, which is a moose both in bulk and in weight). The leather is glossy and of good quality. The cover bends back easily (again, unlike its kindle keyboard's counterpart) to enable holding the kindle as if it was cover-less. It protects the device while adding to its attractiveness. . It is a little tricky to properly position the kindle inside this cover, so before you start, look at the drawing that comes with the cover, as it is really helpful. It is easy to accidentally bend back the edges of the rubber while inserting the device incorrectly. Also, it is rather difficult to remove the kindle from this cover, which isn't a problem if you like to keep yours in at all times. However, if you like to take your kindle classic in and out - you might find it annoying. . I am very pleased with this product.

My wife surprised me with a kindle for christmas. I ordered the online store kindle touch leather cover, olive green simply because i wanted a color other than black. The cover is exactly as described and pictured. I am not sure why a previous reviewer stated that it is not green but rather mustard brown; mine is definitely olive green. It fits the kindle well and makes it more comfortable to hold by adding just a bit of thickness. I am extremely pleased with it.

D. Glenda, Michigan

I just got my cover "used" from online store. It has a few very minor marks on it, probably what a new one looks like after a few weeks of use, and the used price was excellent. It adds very little to the original size of the kindle, which is nice as you can easily put it in your pocket without having to remove it from the cover. It looks like it protects the kindle well enough that a drop wouldn't hurt it, corners are well protected, and the cover does a good job of protecting the screen. The cover, when open, makes the kindle more like a book and it folds flat behind the kindle if that's what you want. It also lies very flat against the screen when closed. I guess you could use a rubber band to hold it closed, but i really don't see the need. . My only complaint is i wish the colors were brighter.

P. Megan, Portsmouth says

Yes it is low tech. But guess what? so are books and this is an e-book reader: a book (for all intents and purposes). It continues to be useful and reliable. Thank you online store!

B. Meredith, Rutland

This case is a nice accessory for the kindle ereader. The outside of the cover is a hard plastic all around with a synthetic leather feel at the binding. The inside of the cover is a leather material that feels smooth and should definitely provide a nice protection to the device. . The set up is easy. Simply snap the kindle right into the case around the corners. The fit is pretty snug, and it shouldn't fall out when you drop it accidentally. You will have access to the page-turning buttons on the side on both sides. . One thing to note is that the cover itself is just a flap that flips over. So there is nothing that holds the cover in place and it can swing open. Not a big deal, but something to consider. . The case is marked up to be around $40, which i think is way overpriced (a new kindle is $69, and a case should never cost as much as the item itself). Aim to buy this during one of those lightning deals or an used item to save money on this.

. Donna, Maine says

I got this low cost cover for one of my kindles ($69. 00 'basic'). It has corner straps which work fine at holding the kindle in place. The inside left cover has a hand strap you can use to easily hold the kindle & cover combo one handed while reading. Even with the cover closed, yo can get the usb cable into the charge port for battery recharging. The rear exterior cover also has an elastic strap, which can be pulled around, over the front cover, to hold the case closed. It is not a maximum protection device, but does offer adequate, or better, protection, and does so at a great price.

T. Guest, Victoria

It only fit the "kindle" kindles. So make sure you are buying the actual one to fit whatever kind of kindle you do have/bought. . The design is okay. I don't like how it doesn't have anything to hold it closed or open while reading. You have to always have a hand on it to keep it from closing or opening. They should have added something like a magnet, button or band. . The outside does dent/scratch up easily. You will need to be extra gently it not marrying it with keys, fingernails or anything else that could scratch/dent it. Unless, you don't mind. It gets ugly after so many mares and will be less efficient if torn. (has more of a chance of padding falling out or whatever is underneath the leather. ). . My kindle hasn't fallen out of this. I've dropped it more than a few times and it went flying spread eagle into the air and landed open face to the kindle and didn't pop out. My kindle was also safe, save for minor nicks from the fallout(s. ) so it does hold up very well. It protects it like its supposed too. When i first got it i was skeptical but all of the kindle covers i'd found were made this way. I wanted something that slid into place and flaps that velcro it into place, to protect it from slipping out. Or when the it lands open face on the kindle itself. But so far so good. . I've also opened it and read for a few hours straight with the front pulled behind the kindle, and it hasn't weekend the binder so far. Its worn their like old leather but it hasn't become dysfunctional. In time, it probably will but that is to be expected when i use it daily and constantly pull it back like that. . So, would i recommend this? yes. Its a bit pricey and not as thick as i'd like it to be. The design is left to be desired but it does do what its supposed to do.

W. Lynette, Redbridge says

This is an excellent piece of design. The kindle is perfectly secure in the well-fitted cover, and there's unrestricted access to the ports and controls. It's also very durable; i use it a lot, and there's no sign of wear on the hinge. It feels good in the hand, too. . I took off a star because if the cover's shut and you're carrying it to another room, any squeeeze on the bottom of the cover will push one of the controls, with unknown consequeces - nothing serious, just annoying. Molding a little spacer into the cover would have eliminated the problem.

A. Anderson, Westminster says

Got this for my grandmother's kindle because she wanted to feel like she was reading a "real" book and holding it with both hands. It fit the bill perfectly, and she is very happy with it. Kindle snapped right in the back and is working perfectly. This will only fit the small, basic kindle. The one around $70 or so. Will not work with other models.

. Pete, New Mexico

Yeah, i know what you're thinking if you've read my other reviews: "no complaints from te5la? " okay, but i call them as i see them. This cover could not be any better in my opinion. It looks nice, isn't bulky, fits perfectly over the kindle, the cover closes flat and folds around nicely to the back. . The fact that i got this new for a total of $7. 49 (it is $39. 99 right now) is an added bonus. I guess that's inline with my kindle deal as i got that new for $29. 00 with free shipping. . Great product!

X. Rita, Bexley says

I was a little leery about purchasing this product due to all of the negativity in the reviews. However one thing that so many reviews were griping about attracted me to it. Many people said that the kindle was difficult to get back out of the case. My first generation kindle broke because it fell out of the case, so this was a positive feature for me. I mean, why put it in a book-like case if you are going to take it out to read it? i often read lying on my back with the kindle above me, so a tight fit is important. The other big complaint was that the case didn't feel like leather, the back especially. I am unsure where this comes from, unless the reviewers have never handled a new leather-bound book. That is what it feels like to me. The front flap could have more padding on it and maybe an elastic strap, but i actually have no complaints about it. I think it's a great product, if a bit pricy.

U. Susana, Illinois

I bought this cover for my k4 ($79 kindle with so). I chose it over others because it looked like it would not add too much bulk to the already 'minimalist' design of the k4. Indeed it is about as small a 'hard' cover as i think you could design. So if you prefer the protection of a hard cover and want to keep the overall size as compact as possible this is the one for you. . It does add a bit more weight than i expected but i expect that was due to my becoming used to holding the featherweight 'naked' kindle. Since adding the case i think the weight actually is beneficial inasmuch as it seems to add substance the k4. . Unlike others i perceive the leather to be just as online store says. 'premium' and as the cover is essentially one piece front to back means the hinge is also leather. I cannot see it wearing out over time. Mine hasn't scratched yet but i'm not throwing it in the bottom of a purse, etc. Either. And if/when it does get scratched up/stained i just think it adds character. I cannot comment on the other colors. I opted for a safe 'saddle tan' color and it looks just like i expected. . I also do not miss having an elastic strap to keep it closed as some others have noted. Personally i prefer it not to have any closure as i think it would just get in the way when opening fully, folding the cover all the way back and holding it in one hand. I guess for those times i need to ensure the cover remains closed i could simply use a rubber band or something. . Finally, for those complaining they cannot get the kindle out of the cover there were instructions included with the cover of how to do so. Simply 'bend' the bottom right corner slightly away from the kindle, insert a finger under the kindle and snap it out. Easy. . While i do like the case, the fit absolutely perfect and get a feel of quality i also think at $40 it is overpriced. Otherwise i would give it a solid 5 stars

H. Carol, Birmingham says

The kindle fits very snugly in the form fitted case. In fact, it fits so well that it's a bit of a pain getting the kindle out. Since i don't plan on taking it off again for a long time, i'm okay with that. The cover adds very little to the weight and volume of the kindle, which makes it an ideal case for carrying around. . I think it looks great. I've seen other reviewers critiquing the quality of the leather cover; it is cheap and scratches too easily. Perhaps it does scuff easily; i just received it. My primary purpose, though, in buying the cover was to protect my kindle. Scratches and scuffs on the cover don't bother me much. . I recommend buying it used. I bought mine for a fraction of the retail cost (it had a couple scratches and marks here and there). The only advantage in buying it new is that it won't have any of that cosmetic damage. If it does scratch easily, however, the benefit of buying it new is negated pretty quickly.

. Guest, Bremen

This little cover is quite attractive in the wine color (sometimes i just sit and admire it! ), it has a quality feel, plus it gives my kindle good protection in my purse. It doesn't add much weight or bulk. I was pleased that it didn't have a buckle of some sort to get caught on items in my purse, nor a magnet closure to desensitize my credit cards. The cover opens effortlessly and folds back, making it easy to hold and easy to access all the buttons.

L. Mary, South Dakota says

Great accompaniment for the kindle. Saved the kindle when it accidentally slipped from my hand and fell on hard floor. Looks good too. The ergonomics are also good and it lets you hold the kindle like a book.

I. Sandra, Greenwich

I'm not going to go into a detailed description of the product as this was well done by other reviewers. I wanted to take the time to leave a very positive review for this product because the quality of this cover really impressed me. I was reluctant to spend $40 for a cover, too, but i took my chances and i'm so glad i did. The device fits perfectly in the hard rubber interior of the cover and won't move at all (in addition to being protected all around the edges, with openings for the usb/power button and the page forward/back buttons on both sides of the device). The leather and stitches are beautifully finished and this cover really has a classy look and a secure feel. I am happy to say that i got what i paid for, in a good way! the cover doesn't add much weight to the device and can easily be held open for reading with one hand. I recommend spending a few extra bucks for this really nice accessory. I got the green version, which is actually a bit darker than on the official product picture. The leather is olive green, not apple green. Finally, here is my original contribution: the cover closed with the device inside (kindle 4, wi-fi, 6") and securely fitted weighs exactly 275 grams or 9. 70 ounces, just in case you were wondering.

Top kindle leather cover does fit Review

Disadvantage and Critical reviews

Y. Elanor, St. Helens says

First, i love the design of this case. It is amazing slim and light and barely adds any bulk to the kindle in any way. Also, i love the way it snaps into the little shell in the back, it fits snugly, no way it would pop out on its own, while at the same time, i can easily remove it when i need to. . That said, the quality of the "leather" (or whatever it is) is just sub-par for something i am paying this much for. It scratches very easily. So far the case has only been on my nightstand and desk and already has two visible scratches on it. Since it's not real leather, it does not look like leather getting broken in. It actually makes it look even more cheap. . If online store had sprung for a little higher quality leather for the outer part of the case, or just gone with something that was not supposed to look like leather but was more durable, i would give this thing 5 stars. I can already tell it's going to get torn up and look like crap in a few weeks. . I won't be returning it, because it is serving its job protecting my kindle, but i feel like i got a little screwed on the price for the quality.

U. Elizabeth, Wyoming

The kindle does not fit in the cover. The casing is too rigid for the kindle to "snap in. " it shouldn't be so difficult to fit a kindle in the cover. I will return it to online store, and will go to best buy to hopefully find a cover that you don't have to wrestle with.

M. Angelica, Missouri says

I liked this product when i first got it, in fact i have the same case from years back for a different kindle, however the quality has gone way down and this one didn't even last me a year before the top layer rubbed away on the corners and is now starting to peel up. As you can see in the pictures this happened to all 4 corners and it just keeps coming off, now starting up the side. Just made of plastic and cardboard, not worth the cost.

N. Julia, Medway

The cover fits the kindle well but i do have a couple of issues with it. The first time i put the kindle with cover in my purse the front of the cover got indented with something in my purse. It now has grooves and scratch marks all over the front flap. On the plus side the kindle itself was unharmed. My only other complaint is the fact that the front flap isn't weighed down so it just sits closed. Other than those issues i don't have any complaints with the cover or color.

. Cortney, Liverpool says

I wanted to love this product. But it hurt my hand to hold the kindle in bed or in a seated positionwhile it was in the case. The only option was to remove the kindle every time i wanted to read it. There is a 1/2"-1" cut on the top and bottom on the spine of the cover. It is natural for a finger to slide right up in there. Every time. I could not figure a way around it. It was too expensive to mess with trying to re-engineer it. I returned this item.

Z. Lewis, Ealing

I love the concept of a close-fitting, compact cover for my basic kindle. The fact that the device snaps securely in place was a real draw, as was knowing there is very little weight added to the kindle. What i don't like is the cheap feel of the leather. The front cover feels like a very thin piece of cardboard; there is no padding and no give to the leather at all and there are places in the stitching that feel rough to the touch. The inside fabric is a scratchy felt-type fabric. I wish i could be impressed with the product, but i can't.

. Shayna, Wakefield says

Says it fits a kindle. Well not my kindle. Way too small. Now i am stuck with it or can return it for a price.

O. Cageen, Illinois

Please be aware that this cover does not fit kindle touch. They are different in size although they look almost the same. . First:. Why there aren't more colors available? well i guess i have to choose the almost brown looking. . Not being entirely happy with the color but decided to buy it 'hey it's online store right? '. When it arrived the color is slightly different, because of the material. Some kind of leather i guess, but the one you know it's leather because they told you so. . Second:. I tried to convince myself that the quality is fair for the money, but is not. Certainly a steep price. . It does protect the kindle, at least the back of it. The screen i wouldn't be so sure, the leather feels fragile, you can bend it no problem. . Finally:. The pro: it's very light and preserves original size. That's it. . If you don't mind the so few colors and don't require a rugged cover, the product it's ok.

. Walsh, Bayern says

Very hard so good for impact. However, not easy to handle. You have to remove the kindle to hit the keys to turn pages if fingers are too big. I was expecting something to hold the kindle inside too. I would not recommend.

. Palmer, North Carolina

It does it's job, and fits the kindle perfectly. The inside looks clean and i like the kindle logo on the back of the face, and the felt material feels good. The leather finish is very smooth, feels nice. . However. The face/cover part of it, feels thin and cheap. It feels like thin crisp cardboard, like it could crease easily or scratch peel the pleather of you're not careful. I expected a little more from the "official" cover, but it's by no means a bad item. I'd still recommend it to people who want a cover but don't want those generic rubber band style cases. . It fits tight and has a natural feel, like it should be there.

S. Paula, Washington says

Hard to install. Verified several times that the was the right size for the kindle i bought. The requirement is to bend back the corner of the cover to fit the corner of the kindle. There's no way this product will bend. After 4 broken nails and a cut on my thumb i gave up and sent it back. Would not recommend this to anyone but a contortionist.

H. Megan, Portsmouth

My kindle fits nicely in the cover and i can easily use the forward and back when i am reading. The reason i don't care for it that much is that it is easily scratched. I wish i would have purchased a cover where the marks wouldn't have been as noticible.

E. Theresa, Western Australia says

Definitely need a cover for kindle so you can hold your kindle like a book. Bought this a while back and it's lasted well. Deducted two star since i've learned there are non/faux leather covers, which i have bought. Seems sturdier and more durable. Came in useful when reading in the hot tub on vacation. I much prefer this to leather.

. Helen, Southend-on-Sea

Having had an original kindle keyboard for almost three years with the online store embossed leather cover i was, um, somewhat disappointed in the new cover i purchased for my replacement basic kindle. The rougher texture of the original kindle cover made it much easier and more comfortable to hold. The elastic cord used to hold it closed was really nice too. The current kindle cover outside texture feels kind of like the sole of a brand new leather soled shoe and it does not hold itself closed like the older kindle keyboard cover. . It works. It is still an absolute necessity for comfortable reading but not nearly as nice as the old one was. :- . . I just cannot give the praise i gave the last one.

T. Anonymous, Thueringen says

I decided on this cover because it seemed like it would be the perfect fit for my new kindle and i was not disappointed! the fit is just right, with no extra bulk. I also love the wine colour. . My major complaint is that the leather gets scratched up really easily. I've only had the case for 6 weeks and it's covered in scratches. The design is still great, but i'm really disappointed in the quality of the leather. If you're going to be paying $40 for something, it shouldn't look terrible after such a short time. Maybe a synthetic material would have held up better.

B. Diana, Nova Scotia

I had one of these for my 1st kindle and have loved it! when i purchased another updated version of the same size i decided to purchase another. After all if it ain't broke don't fix it right? when i received the new kindle. Same size as my previous one. 6". I tried to put my new kindle in the cover and it didn't fit! i compared the old cover with the new one and it was significantly smaller than both the kindle and the previous cover.

F. Mahood, Michigan says

If i could give 0 stars i would. This cover cost $40 and is very thin and flimsy, almost like cardboard. I feel like it would easily scuff and scratch and does not offer much in the way of protection for the newer, thinner kindle. Shocked that such a low quality product is offered at a price that is more than half the cost of the kindle device itself. The only positive is that the kindle does fit snugly inside the cover, would not fall out if dropped or bumped.

. Yvette, Westminster

I returned this book cover because i found it much below the quality of the online store book cover i had with my kindle 2nd generation. It is described as leather cover but very cardboard feeling and not at all leather-like. Just plain too expensive for too little quality! also, i could never could get my touch kindle into the cover without forcing and possibly damaging the kindle or the cover or both.

L. Cecilia, Arizona says

I had an older kindle with a leather case. Paid the same for that case years ago and it was quality. This case while nice, should not cost $40. The quality of the leather is not what it once was and the feel overall is cheap-ish. . If this was $20 or even $25 i would be rating this higher. C'mon online store. Bad form.

V. Suzanne, Mississippi

The left panel of the cover inhibits movement of the left page forward and page back keys. I received a poorly made cover. I would not recommend buying one without testing it first.

K. Amanda, Nottinghamshire says

Please note this case does not fit he 7th generation kindle. If you are buying this for a new kindle look elsewhere! the newer cases will say 7th generation. I found this out the hard way. . That said it looks nice and if i had an older kindle i would consider keeping this.

W. Olga, Southampton

Does not fit properly. Advertised as leather, but i doubt it is. Very cheap. Not worth the money.

P. Rhonda, Queensland says

I understand it's leather but this case got scratched so easily right out of the gate. Plus, there isn't a snap, magnet or band to keep the front flap shut. Whenever i throw it in my purse or traveling bag, i'm always afraid something will get between the microfiber and screen (keys, wallet, etc) and scratch the screen. To me, this beats the point of a case - protecting your kindle from anything. . In general, it's quality material but doesn't give me much peace of mind for keeping my kindle in top shape, and for the price, this is pretty important.

C. Edith, Oregon

Probably the best choice on market. It is made mostly with material looking more plastic then leather. The middle part on the bottom is cut to give acces to buttons on the kindle. The cutting is too sharp and if you have habit like myself to place your finger on bottom to hold the book it becomes very incomfortable. I am thinking about using a sand paper to make it rounded and comfortable. Except this concept problem, the cover is a good choice but very expensive. 50$ to protect a 70$ device is a strange idea

G. Rebecca, Montana says

This is a good product however, even as i had the cover on, my kindle still incurred scratches on its surface and screen, requiring me to purchase additional skin and screen protector which is silly. What is the use in a case that does not protect my product. This time, i am purchasing a sleeve for my kindle. I haven't purchased it yet, but i presume that it will be ideal for my purposes. I will read it in it's own slimness and when i don't read it i will put it away into the sleeve where keys and such will not have the opportunity to scratch the kindle, whereas the free flap on this cover occasionally fails. . This cover does offer protection, however sometimes accidents happen i suppose. I love my kindle. I can't wait until they make a paper sized kindle. I have textbooks on this kindle but the size is too small to read.

. Pamela, City of London

I ordered a kindle and this cover. The cover does not fit the kindle though, it is for a different model. . This is of course my own fault, but i would expect online store to have given a warning about the model not fitting, since i ordered the things in the same package, and only them. . Anyways, i had to do some diy to get it somewhat working, as it did not make sense to send it back.

Q. Sherry, Tasmania says

Love my kindle - carry it with me wherever i go. Bought this (expensive! ) cover for my second kindle, and it fits nicely (the kindle "snaps" securely into the cover, so it will not fall out). However, the exterior of this cover is very smooth slick leather, not pebbled or textured or even cushioned. I do not use this one any more - too worried that while carrying it or even just grabbing it out of my purse i will drop it. I had one close call, and that was enough for me. Be careful! i found a better leather one at target, one with a bit of cushioning and some grip to the exterior surface.

X. Hannah, Manitoba

I returned this cover. I was too small and did not fit. I wish in describing the covers they would give the dimentions in inches. I don't understand descriptors like 2nd generation, etc.

. Sharon, Franche-Comte says

I do not like the cover but, what i really hate is this kindle. The cover is useless. I have had a kindle for years and loved it. This one is a pain. More like reading a paperback book. Which i don't like. The cover has no inside storage, difficult to attach a reading light. Sad to say, but i read more on my ipad now!

I. Evelyn, Arkansas

While i like the concept of the cover, it doesn't measure up to the fact that it was half the cost of a new kindle reader! i very much like the way the back cover molds to the kindle so there are no little straps. Where it falls short is the front cover which feels too flimsy to last very long, and it lacks any kind of closure - magnetic would have been good. It is over-priced and would have been a better value at $20-25.

R. Cassella, Slough says

I thought this would be like my two previous leather covers, but it is not. This is a questionable leather grade of cover; more like plastic if you ask me. Not happy with it from the get go out of the box. Would not have ordered this one if i knew what it looked and felt like. My 2 previous were soft like leather and had a leather grain to them, this one does not. Plastic?
