Review for free standing dual lcd monitor

Price was $31.45. Works great, i have a pair of dell p2415q monitors and this stand really helps with the desk footprint. I used to have apple thunderbolt displays and the dell feet are huge by comparison (though the dell picture itself is much nicer). Easy to make the monitors level with each other and it really tidys up your desk. I drilled a 5/8" hole for the stand and a 2" hole to run the wires through (with a grommet. ). . Sturdy enough for my needs. Wouldn't use them with monster heavy screens or in a vehicle or rolling cart, though. They will wiggle a bit if you shake the desk.

Preamble

Very nice over all. . Pros: very heavy, won't slide around table (also has a little padding on base underside to avoid scratching and etc. ). Sturdy. Sleek black color. Easy to set up with two people. Great quality. Comes with every tool you need to set it up. . Cons: no serious complaints but if you are too rough with using the metal tools that come with it you will scrape off some of the color but that. Is not a huge deal breaker because odds are you will not see them when you've set it up. . Sturdy and heavy metal so you don't have to worry about being too rough with it, which you do have to manhandle all the joints to get them just the way you like. I set this up solo and it took about 2 hours to get everything all perfect. However, i think that was partly due to the monitors i am using. To make these monitors ( asus 23-inch full hd ultraslim gaming monitor vx238h-w 1080p, 1ms rapid response time, dual hdmi, built in speakers, low blue light, flicker free, asus eyecare ) work with this mount you need to get these adaptors ( vesa mount adapter for asus vx-series monitors - fits vx279q, vx248h, vx228h, vx229h, vx24ah, vx239h, and vx238h (2-pack) - by humancentric ). Was a little more pricey to do it this way but i am satisfied with the results. You can see the joint and cord set up in one of the pictures posted along with this. Wali Free Standing Dual Lcd Monitor Desk Mount Fully Adjustable Fits Two Screens Up To 27 , 22 Lbs Per Arm Capacity, With Optional Grommet Base Wl-mf002 Review (mf002)

This is a very nice stand. I have used planar in the past and i do like the extra articulation in this stand. My only complaint with it is the inadequate weight of the base. I hung two 24" monitors. Both had the transformer on the cable, making them very light. If the monitors are moved closer to the user, rather than hanging just over the base, it tilted. Not enough that it ever fell over but enough that i had to question the stability. Moving the part of the arm connecting to the pole further back and bringing the monitors forward with the outer part of the arms helped, but just so. If the monitors had been bigger this would not have been an option. Also, if the stand is going to sit against a wall it would need to be moved forward to accommodate the arms bending towards the back. I, personally, would stay with planar for larger or heavier monitors. It is more stable, by far. But the flexibility of this stand is outstanding and, despite it's one shortcoming, i would buy this stand again without hesitation. . Assembly and attaching the monitors took about half an hour. All the hardware that was necessary was in the box, including tools. Also, thumb screws were included for the monitors as well as longer screws and spacers if needed. -V. Amanda

PROS
  • So i have to say i love this. And it looks cool to boot. I have two 22" monitors, and the provided stand was too small to hold the monitors up. My desk did not have a hole in it, so i easily drilled one, and used the included mount system to install the stand in that hole. I bought this product solely because i knew the stand wouldn't work, and knew the product included both installation options. Start to finish, including drilling the hole, these monitors were up and functioning on the new stand in 30 minutes. Including testing the base first to see if that would work. This stand has been up for a couple of weeks, and so far the monitors have not moved even a small amount, they are holding perfectly. I have received many compliments on the professional look that this stand provides.
  • I typically like to own things longer than a month before writing a review so that i have a good, clean feel for the product i'm reviewing. The only downside to online store is that sellers are allowed to solicit reviews from customers. While this is something i strongly feel needs to stop, it isn't something i'll blame this seller for (though, in the future, please don't immediately start sending me review requests in the first week after ordering the product; i got your request before i received my package). . Previous comments aside, this is actually a great item. I was worried about the weight balance and it holding both of the monitors as a stand-alone. Given that i have a glass desk, drilling mount holes and other similar acts were a no-go for me. So far, this monitor has been stable and reliable. The adjustment on it isn't 100% perfect - 99% is close enough though - but it still functions quite well. I will probably purchase another one of these for the other two monitors i have. Overall, very happy with my experience with this product.
CONS
  • Assembly was simple and easy. The clips that are designed to hold the wires are brittle. Two broke upon assembly, another when i tried to run a wire through it. The fourth one to break was on the shaft as i ran power wires up to my monitors. So, it's back to zip ties. . I am writing this review with less than a day of use. I'm using this to hold two 32" lg monitors. This stand holds them up well and the up/down tilt feature works without issue. The mounting options are nice to have. Height adjustment is easy and the tool holder is great to have available for quick adjustments. This stand does not give me any anxiety of falling over. If you do, the mounting options allows for more secure mounting options. . I really wish there was a way to lock the horizontal and vertical positioning. I purchased this so i could have one monitor vertical and one monitor horizontal. The problem is that 360 degree rotation has no stopping point, so the monitor cannot be level or perpendicular with my desk when in the vertical position. I assume the 360 rotating feature would be great if the monitor's mounting point were centered and the weight evenly distributed; mine are not, as they are mounted at the base of the monitor. . All in all, it serves its purpose for two horizontally mounted monitors. I am giving this stand three stars because it advertises the clips and i'm let down by the fact that i had to go back to zip ties. So for that reason i don't see how this could be anything more than average when parts supplied are of such low quality. If you don't care for the wire holders, then this is a good buy.
  • I bought this for my 2 24" monitors but found it impossible to to use. As you add each monitor the stand becomes very unstable. I tried for hours and ended up putting the monitor stands back on and used them again. This dual monitor stand now lives in my closet, i can't use it.
  • I like this unit so far. I'm using the weighted base option and it was easy enough to put together. I probably would've given this unit 5 stars except for one major failing - the wrong size screws for the monitor-to-vesa brackets. They are too long and bottom out in my monitors (lg 24m47) without holding the brackets snug. There are included bushings, but they are too long, the screws won't even reach through them. I'm going to need some washers or a smaller bushings to make it right. I'm sure they'll be easy to find at the hardware store, but more correct size screws should've been included.

free standing dual lcd monitor WALI Free Standing Dual LCD Monitor Desk Mount Fully Adjustable Fits Two Screens up to 27", 22 lbs per Arm Capacity, With Optional Grommet Base (WL-MF002) (Switch to Mobile/Desktop Version)

Extremely easy to put together. I love that you put the bracket on the monitor first and then hang it on the arm and tighten it down. Also like the fact that you can adjust the height of each monitor independently by . 8". It comes with both the freestanding base and a bolt and pieces that you can fasten it to the desk through a hole in the desk, not over the edge of desk. The base it not oversized, it measures 13" w x 11" d x 1" h. There is a clip to hold cables and the allen wrenches on the post (post is 17" tall once assembled). The middle of the monitor brackets max height is 15. 5". I have 2 aoc 27" monitors on it and it is great. It was hard to find one that you could adjust the monitor heights independently. For work, i purchased the fleximounts dual arm free standing desk mount monitor stand (df1d) which doesn't allow you to adjust the monitor heights independently, was more involved (still not hard though) to put together, and the base is a much bigger footprint. I wish i would have found the wali first. Well done wali!

Click to see NoticeWali Standing Adjustable Capacity Optional (mf002)"Very well packaged with clear instructions and all the tools necessary. I'm using it with two asus 24" monitors. As a pleasant surprise, the unit comes not only with the free standing plate shown in the photo, but also a set of plates to mount the unit in a cable cut-out hole in the desk - which i happened to have. It is very stable and very nicely built, at least for the price. It comes with a half dozen cable management clips that keep the installation tidy. I did have to tighten up the bolts on the joints that allow the monitors to tilt up and down but the necessary tool was included and it took all of 1 minute to accomplish. Overall, i could not be happier with this product and highly recommend it."

The F.A.Q. for wali free standing dual lcd monitor desk mount fully adjustable fits two screens up to 27 , 22 lbs per arm capacity, with optional grommet base wl-mf002

She says . I must say, this is one beast of a duo monitor stand. I ended up putting it together, and after being a bit overwhelmed by all the parts, it is actually really easy (i labeled each section to ensure proper assembly) i don t think it took more than 20 minutes altogether. This unit has 2 options. Table stand or, if needed, drill a hole into the desk and it can be attached with 2 base pieces and screws or just leave it on its stand. The unit also allows for swing action to move the monitors around when needed. The materials are solid and strong. After we put it together, my husband attached all the cords through the plastic organizer pieces and even attached our super strong magnet to its base to keep usbs that are needed neatly organized for quick use. In the center he placed his headphones for easy access too. Our monitors are older and heavy and this holds both of them like a boss! so, women, if i can put this together, anyone can! which for you guys, should be a piece of cake! . . He says . This stand is unlike anything i have seen before. I was expecting a basic metal holder covered in plastic, much like what most feet on monitors are. Boy was i surprised when i unpacked a tank. Each piece of this is heavy meaning life long use. I allowed my wife to assemble it to show how easy it is even though it seems like many parts. We have 2 monitors on it now and sits on the desk fine. There is an option to bolt it through the desk to ensure no tipping over. Both arms can flex and swing as well as each monitor can rotate. They can be far enough apart 2 desk areas could be made with 1 stand or just 2 monitors for 1 desk area. Again, i am shocked at the weight and heaviness of this product, i never thought such things were made anymore. . We received a product sample for testing and review purposes.

if you are going to have the monitors extended out then it's a very good idea to use the under desk supporting bracket. However for my purposes with the arms all the way back it balances fine. I got this because i wanted to elevate my monitors to relieve back and neck pain and free up space on my desk. . Set up was easy and took all of about 10 min. I didn't have any trouble tightening the bolts or have any stripped screws like some have reported. Maybe i just got lucky or maybe they have improved the design, i dunno. You can see from the video i posted that it sits pretty sturdy on my desk, the arms are easy to move while holding position where you left them, and it easily rotates between portrait and landscape. . I thought it was pretty evident from the picture but both monitors will have to be the same height. It would be nice to have a little bit more flexibility in that regard and a heavier base would be nice. . My monitors are around 24 inches to give you an idea of the scale in the pictures.

Holding up 2 hp 27wm monitors, just fine! easy adjustments too, no over-tightening needed or height issues, as i read in other reviews. My wali looks exactly like the one on the picture, and i could see zero difference, from those that i searched on youtube as well. Very sturdy - i was able to install 1 monitor at a time, without help, or fear of falling over - very nice stand! online store should start connecting seller details to reviews; i got mine from wali electric ($31. 45 + free shipping), which i assume is the manufacturer's store. Mine is just a temporary setup, until i get my desk sorted, but you can tell by the pictures - the space that i was able to utilize with this stand, is incredibly huge.

K. Moore, California says

As described and works perfectly. It cleared up so much space on my desk. I was using a desk stand to lift the screen a few inches so that i can sit in the most ergonomically position but this stand has really allowed me to not only free up so much space on the desk but also position it at an ideal height. I was afraid that it was going to be too short but it was not. Even when i have my desk in the 'standing desk' position i can stand straight and it keeps the screens at eye level. . The setup was very easy. Even on my own. All the tools are included, except a philips screwdriver. One issue i did have was with the extenders for the vesa mount for holes that are recessed on monitors. The screws provided were a bit too long but i was able to screw the vesa mount while it was on the base, otherwise i would not have been able to slide it onto the base.

W. Walsh, Basse-Normandie

This monitor stand is awesome! very solidly built and easily installs to the desk with or without the mounting base. I installed it without the mounting base and it bolts right down to a desk with the cable access hole(s) and still route the cables up through the hole. Now i can lift the monitors off the desk and regain some valuable desk space as well as infinitely adjust the monitors height and position.

Y. Lorenz, District of Columbia says

If your monitors are off by an inch or two you can individually raise one so that the tops of the monitors are even. Some reviewers are claiming that you must screw down the weighted base, this is only partially true. You may need to screw down the weighted base only if you angled the monitors toward the front or is heavily unbalanced, otherwise the weighted base is enough to support the monitors on its own. There were some minor chips and dents when i received the mount, but after assembly none are noticeable. There added cable management brackets are essential, they'll make your desk appear much less cluttered.

Z. Suzanne, Nottinghamshire

These monitor stands worked out great and were beyond my expectations! the free standing base was a bit unstable for the weight of both monitors when they were pulled forward so we installed them using the optional install into the original "cable access holes" in the desks! the heavy bracket and post for this was perfect for holding the weight! after some minor adjustment on the arms and adding the provided wire cable guides the overall finish and function was beautiful!

I. Bullock, Southwark says

I have two monitors, a 23. 5" sceptre, which is my main monitor, and a 21. 5" viewsonic, which is just to my left, at roughly a 45 degree angle so i can view it easily. Only one of my monitors have a stand that can be adjusted for height. I am in my 60s, and the glasses i wear when i work on my computer have bifocals that are set for computer work rather than reading (i can't handle progressive lens). Since i view my monitors through my bifocals, i look through the bottom part of my glasses, which requires my monitors to be very low to the desk, or i would be forced to hold my neck at a very bad angle. Most monitors (especially the ones that cannot be adjusted for height) are at least 3 inches or more off the desk. Using this monitor stand i was able to set up both monitors so they are only about an inch off the desk, which is perfect. Assembly of the stand was fairly straightforward, although when both monitors are attached it is very tough to move the stand up and down. I ended up putting some temporary spacers under the monitors so i could get them to be the correct height. Then i moved everything in position and went through tightening all the screws. My experience with hex screws is you have to be careful when you tighten them because the hex part (and sometimes the wrench you are using) tend to strip. I was careful and didn't have any problems. The only con against these would be the height adjustment for the vesa mount. Since i have two different size monitors, and since they arms of the main mount do not individually adjust in height, the only way to adjust for different size monitors is to use the adjustment screw on the back of the vesa mount. The screw provides about an inch of height adjustment. However, it does tend to make the monitor attached to that mount a little wobbly, but it wasn't a problem for me. The stand is sturdy, but you do have to be aware of how far out you can bring the monitors. If you want to bring the monitors further out then you would need attach the base to the desk. All in all i am very satisfied.

M. Gilmore, Missouri

I purchased two of these: one to mount two 23" asus monitors and one to mount two 21" dell monitors. Both worked exactly as expected. The included directions were straightforward, the small amount of assembly required was simple, installation was easy, and adjustment was no big deal. There is no sagging, wobbling, or any other problems one may find in lower quality mounts. All of my monitors can now be positioned quickly and comfortably for any user and the freed up desk space is a huge bonus. I've used other brands of monitor mounts that were much more expensive, but did absolutely nothing the wali can't do. I shopped and shopped for a good price on quality gas piston monitor mounts, and i don't think there is a better value on the market. . I did have some apprehension based on the online store product photos, because the arms looked bulky. This isn't the case in real life. The extra thickness is due to the cable covers. After the cables are properly routed and covered, the look is very clean. All you see are floating monitors that can be perfectly positioned to your liking. If i could change one thing about this, i would like for all adjustment bolts to require the same size allen wrench. That's not really a big deal, however, because all necessary allen wrenches are included in the package. . This is a top quality product and a great value. I will definitely buy these again if i need more in the future.

Q. Kimberly, Washington says

We did not have a lot room in our streaming radio studio. Two monitors with two good size bases was part of the problem. This product from wali was just what we needed. Installation was easy. We decided to mount this directly to the table to save even more room!

J. Guest, Thueringen

I'm very happy with the mount - i have 2 24" monitors and it was simple to set up. There are cable management clips provided that worked well and there is a tool holder for the allen keys for future adjustment one tip - have both monitors ready to mount on the stand and have them within reach. You just have to hold the stand once one monitor is mounted to the stand while you grab the other monitor. Or just have someone help you for a quick min. Back to the stand. The base has sufficient weight to it but for added weight i actually added underneath the base plate the other table mounting plate. The screws were long enough to add the plate. For me and my desk the base plate works well it would be nice if it was a little shorter for more table space but for stability i know it is needed. One could always use the optional permanent desk mount setup if more desk space is needed.

Fairly easy to assemble. I do worry, however, about how long the screws will hold the monitors in an upright position. Both monitors, a 22" and a 27" consistently rotated forward until i really went at the screw and tightened it as much as i possibly could. I still feel like they are ready to rotate forward at any moment, and i can't tighten the screws any further. . I think in total, this took me about an hour to fully assemble and set up on my desk. This is mostly because i built it facing the wall so that i could more easily see when i slid the monitors onto the stand. Then, once completed, it was too heavy to turn around. So i had to take it apart, turn it around, and put it together again with the monitors facing forward to start. If you follow the instructions step by step, it really is straightforward and not difficult at all. . There was clearly thought put into the design of this. There is a little holder on the back of it to store the 3 allen wrenches used to tighten/loosen screws so that they won't get lost. There are also two plastic pieces on each arm that are intended for cable management. I didn't have a use for these, but found them to be a thoughtful addition. Other than the aforementioned worry that the screws won't sufficiently hold the monitors up in the long run, the thing is sturdily built. I have no fear that the stand will topple over. Overall i'm satisfied with my purchase.

I'm a first time user of monitor stands. Overall, the wali dual lcd monitor is pretty good. I just installed it in my new desk setup. Initially i was going to rate this lower since out of the box, the horizontal arms come un-leveled, meaning when you mount your monitors, they won't been aligned if they were the same model. In order to resolve that, you have to go back and unscrew the nut cap and use the smallest allen wrench provided and turn the inner key within the bolt counter-clockwise and raise the lower of the two monitors. Somebody mentioned it earlier but i had to do my research and go back to the manual (never throw those suckers away). Additionally, when the product arrived, there were slight scratches to the top of the vertical bar, but unnoticeable after setup. . Lastly, you have to be slightly aggressive with the bars to get them where you want as they're pretty static. Make sure to toy play around with them to get a feel before setting your monitors. It wasn't easy but i'd rather have them this way than loose on their axis.

I have been looking for a separate monitor and laptop stand for a while now and recently came across this set up from wali. For under $50, i was a little nervous about the quality before it arrived. I had no reason to be concerned. It is a solid set up. Everything is high-quality metal construction and secure when assembled. Set up took some doing but only because i am not the most, um, detailed direction follower. Make sure you tighten the tray and post screws tightly initially to prevent any kind of movement after you've assembled it (don't ask me how i know). . I have a 15' asus laptop and the lip on the tray holds it fine as long as i don't tip it too far forward. But it's an unusually thick laptop body so i imagine most won't have an issue. Again, it's not a problem for me at all, just limits slightly the angle i can tilt the tray. . If you are ok with the configuration shown in the primary product image (i. E. , monitor above tray) then it will be no problem as is. My desk isn't that deep so i had wanted them to be side-by-side. I was able to set it up that way out of the box. But my monitor was just a hair too big and it cast a shadow on the laptop monitor in the side by side configuration. Support was kind enough to send me a second base post and screws so i could use the grommet and clamp bases at the same time (as is you can only use one or the other). This of course only works if you already have a hole in the desk (or are willing to put one in yourself). Many thanks to wali's support crew for accommodating me. . I use a standing desk. If movement while you type is something you're fussy about (i'm not) note there will be some shake, especially in the standing position. But for most, it should be absolutely no problem. . Overall a fantastic deal. Highly recommend it!

Overall i am pleased with this product. . Pros: very sturdy, easy to install, easy to adjust perfectly. I had absolutely no problem getting my monitors to line up exactly where i wanted them. . Cons: this comes with two mounts, either clamp it to the side of your desk, or drill a grommet. I opted to drill a grommet. The unfortunate part of that is that the base is not hollow, and there is really not enough room to thread cables through the grommet and the base. Other stands offer a hollow base so that you can thread the cables through the grommet and the base, thus hiding the cables entirely. Also, my monitors have multiple inputs, meaning that with the power and input cables, i am attaching 2-3 cords to the back of each of my monitors (2 power cords, 3 hdmi cables, and 1 vga. While this stand has a "cable management system", there is not enough room for all of my cables to fit in the cable cover. The max i think you could fit is one power cord, and maybe 2 input cables per monitor. If you have more than that, or you are using heavily shielded cords- then your cords might not fit. . Note that this stand will allow you to place monitors side by side, but the arms do not reach far enough to place monitors with one on top and bottom. . If i were to purchase again, i would have opted for a stand that had a hollow base and more room for cables- for a cleaner look.

I bought this stand for my new samsung 28" 4k displays (u28e590d). The stand itself is a decent stand. Reasonably well built and functional. I'll mention the biggest con for me at the end of the review. . The packing material around the arm and shaft is insufficient. The shaft was scuffed up when it arrived. Trade out the plastic bag for the low density foam at the least. Or put a cardboard divider in the small box that contains both the shaft and arms to keep them from touching and rubbing in transit. The contents of the other small box (bolts, nuts, screws, bits and pieces, etc) were fine on arrival. . I like the thumbscrews for attaching to the back of the monitors on the universal mounting bracket. I dislike the use of allen screws elsewhere. They could have been thumbscrews as well (winged if more leverage is needed). The tilt (vertical) of the unit sags slowly with these 28s. I'll line up the monitors in the morning and by the next morning they're off a little. Over the course of a weekend they're off a lot. I haven't tightened down on the allen heads too harshly since it's a pita to adjust. I would suggest some sort of notched or ribbed adjustment for the tilt and let the yaw adjustment be the smooth clamp type. . The universal mount bracket that bolts to the display is grooved and that slides down onto the stand to hold it in place. It also slides down over a threaded post (this would be easier to understand with pics). An acorn nut on the threaded post is meant to hold the display down on the mount and keep the grooved mount attached to the stand. That works but it's not a tight fitting. The display rattles loosely on the stand while you adjust it. So you twist and adjust the monitor on the stand to your will; then you let go and see where the loose connection settles. Not bad but not like rock solid either. . The single biggest con for me is how they interact with these samsung monitors. The 4-bolt universal mount pattern on these samsung u28e590d monitors is not in the middle of the display like older displays. The 4-bolt pattern is at the far top of the display. The arms of this stand are all the way to the top of the pole and i still only get about 2. 5" of clearance under my displays to the top of my desk. I don't have any way of increasing the clearance short of putt some books under the base of the stand. I have a couple skinny dell speakers laying on their sides slid under the displays and they fit under them with about 1/2" to spare. When i it up straight in my chair with my seat at the proper height for my legs, i look over the top of the monitors by about 4". If your eyes when looking forward at 0 degrees are supposed to strike the middle of the screens, these displays are easily 10" lower than they should be. Were the mounting holes 4-6" lower on the back of the displays, that would make a huge difference. Even still though the shaft for the stand isn't long enough to reach the appropriate ergonomic height. I can't flip the adapter or arms over either. There isn't any other way that i can achieve more clearance other than blocking up the base of the stand. I reached out to wali to see if there's a longer mounting shaft option and unfortunately there isn't. I looked at the installation guides and product photos for a number of other brands of displays and this seems to be a reasonably common thing for 4k displays, having the mounting bolt hole pattern high up on the displays. I would suggest a stand option that makes a longer shaft an option for these larger displays. . On the upside, the short stand conceals the scuffs in the paint on the short shaft nicely.

H. Elanor, Nebraska says

Started to go four stars because the base could be heavier, but gave it five just because it includes other options. If you want to drill a hole in the desk and through bolt it, it includes a plate for under the desk. Or if you have a desktop grommet, it has a way to mount it through that. . That said, if you chose to use the "weighted base" know that it's not all that heavy, and it can get tippy, especially if you have heavy monitors. I've got one new one that's not bad, but one older dell that really tips it. Since i've got a glass topped desk, there's no way to bolt or clamp it. So i just took some 3m automotive molding double stick tape (the grey stuff with the red liner) and stuck it down. It won't move now. . Quality seems very good, it's solid, and the bars are well built with good connections. It locks down solid as a rock if you want it to. The fact that you can attach the vesa plates to the monitors and then hang them on the arms is a huge help too! . . All in all, a good product. Great, considering the price.

I have been looking for this solution for a while now. My desk situation does not allow me to mount the other type of dual mount arms. This is the perfect solution. I have been using this for several weeks now with (2) viewsonic vx2778-smhd 27" monitors. Excellent built quality and easy to adjust and set up. You can have one monitor in landscape and one in portrait if you like. You can also mount it to a grommet hole as well if you don't want to use the stand. Well done project all around. Simple and usable.

. Michele, Haute-Normandie says

This was a great dual monitor mount, very easy to assemble and kept my monitors lined up perfectly. I went with two of these to do a 4x 23in horizontal mount, and couldn't be happier. I used the table top mounts so i didn't have to drill through my desk, and it has a very small footprint, and keeps plenty of space available on your desk. . Fantastic product, especially for the price. Can't recommend enough.

I really can't find anything negative about this thing. I was going to order the type with the clamp that is meant to clamp to the edge of your desk, but i realized that setup wouldn't work properly with my particular desk. The thing that i really like about this stand is that there are three different options for setting it up. You can use the included platform type stand, or you can use the included mounting hardware to mount the stand to a wire pass-through hole on your desk. If your desk doesn't have a wire pass-through, or if you don't want to use it for this purpose, the instructions have a simple method which shows you how to drill a small hole in your desk where you can then use the mounting hardware. . I opted for mounting the stand to the wire pass-through on my desk. I don't run wires through it anyway. If you do need the pass-through to run wires, the mounting plate has slots in it where you can still run your wires through. This worked out perfect. Previous to this i had a single 23 inch monitor on an online store basics monitor riser. With this new setup, the way that it gets the monitors up off of the desk, i actually have significantly more room on my desk when compared to when i only had one monitor. I even still have the monitor riser on my desk. Its just moved off to the side of the desk, and i have my light on top of it, and i can fit other stuff under it. So i actually have more things on my desk now, but the total footprint is significantly less because of the way that this mount works. It worked out great for making the most out of the limited space on my desk.

Awesome design and quality and a fraction of the price! . Very heavy duty, came with well crafted instructions. All screws, bolts, small parts, and tools (except philips screw driver) were included - all laid out and labeled. Easy to get at and easy not to loose! . Included all parts to allow for multiple installation options, including through a grommet hole on a solid surface without edges. Overall fit, finish and functionality exceeded my expectations and was priced at less than half of what far lesser options are selling for! . I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to improve the ergonomics and space utilization of their work area. I attached mine to an older model ergotron workstation cart so it is being used in both stand-up & sit down and it does so wonderfully! although i have a separate keyboard tray with a full-size keyboard, the laptop holder is very sturdy and can easily be used regularly without it bouncing around as you type or rest your arms as you mouse around. The pole comes with an extension should you need it, depending on the size of your monitor or if being used as a stand-up station on a fixed height desk or table. Extremely well made! the laptop shelf would also function very well as an adjustable swing out surface for holding books, binders, or other references materials within easy sight but off the work surface. Or to hold a small light table, or even as a writing or drawing platform (with appropriate surface pad added) as it is completely tilt adjustable - unlike other products that do not tilt. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with this one!

First why only 4 stars? cuz i just ain't a 5 star kinda guy- 5's perfect and nothing's perfect. With that out of the way i'm very happy with this stand and i want to make those thinking about buying it aware of a coupla things. . This stand ain't for the faint of heart, this stand is for those anal-retentives out there (yeah, like me) who want profound control over the position of their monitors and are willing (or compelled) to put in the time to get it just right. Once i had the stand installed it took me several hours with a level, a tape measure and an assist from a friend to get all the angles the way i wanted them. That's not a negative thing in my opinion, that's a statement about how well thought out this stand is. Perhaps someone less ocd (or more talented) than me could've accomplished the same results in less time, i dunno, just sayin'. . The monitors you're looking at in the image i included are asus ve278h's which are 27" monitors and weigh 13. 2lbs each. To get the angular relationship of the monitors to each other i had to pull both monitors forward a little which the stand wouldn't support free-standing so i did have to drill a hole in my desk and use the included hardware to mount the stand to my desk; initially i wasn't too excited about that because my desk is an expensive solid oak desk but once it was done i was and am satisfied with the results.

This thing is awesome. I have two 27" benq gl2760h's mounted on it and there is plenty of room to move and position them. It's designed and built very well. It comes with two different mounts. There's the desk stand mount, which i'm using. There is also a clamp-style mount that allows you to mount it using a hole drilled through your desk, which is potentially a lot more stable, but the desk stand is also very stable and works fine for me. I've been wanting to buy a dual-screen mount for a while, but they were always super expensive and a lot of them weren't big enough for 27" screens. This thing is perfect and the price is great!

Disadvantage and Critical reviews

Clunky metal arms with very limited adjustability unless you struggle with it. I used a 27 and 24 inch monitors and balance could only be achieved if the monitors were positioned just so. The set-up felt very unstable. I sent them back.

K. Paige, New Jersey

This thing couldn't hold a 5lb monitor let alone a full 27inch. As soon as i put the monitors on i could sense disaster about to happen. The "weighted" stand probably is about 5lbs so don't bank on your monitor staying put. I literally had to bend the arms until it was linear just so the thing didn't fall over. Then we get to the best part! it did fall over, not from the weight, but due to the cheap screws used in manufacturing. Not only do i have a nice scratch in one of my montiors, but i also have a lovely, busted threaded screw in the other monitor. Swift $500+ equipment messed up in less than an hour.

The product is mostly exactly as described, but it's one of those "what you see is what you get" and "you get what you pay for". So i'll start off with some compliments and move on to my complaints. . It's actually very well built, and easy to put together. The alan wrenches included are also really nice, and the holder for them is very convenient. It's sleek looking, and the arm flexibility is pretty decent as well. . Now the problems. . 1. ) it says it can do 25 lbs per arm. Which i don't disagree with. However. What it doesn't tell you is that it can only support that weight if the monitors are pushed in towards the pole as far as they can go. I have 2, 7lb monitors hanging from this mount, and if i extend the arms any more than 4-5 inches forward from the center pole. The entire thing falls forward (and yes, i have the baseplate in the right direction. There's a notch that only allows it to fit in if its facing the proper direction). . *this entire problem is basically caused by the lack of weight in the base plate, and is completely eliminated if you use the bolt down function. However. If i had a desk that i could bolt through, i probably would have bought a clamp-mount, and not a freestanding one. . 2. ) now this might be a random and rare occurrence, but i'm pretty sure my arms are not at an equal height. I have two identical monitors hanging from my mount, and yet, the left one sits about a quarter inch higher than the other. I have set the height adjuster as low as it can go on both of them, and yet its still higher. I swapped the monitors thinking maybe it was their fault. And nope. The left one still sits higher. . 3. ) speaking of the height adjuster feature. Yeah no. Don't even bother trying to use/adjust it. When i noticed the height difference in the monitors, i of course used that to adjust the other one up a little bit so they'd match. Once its been lifted, even ever so slightly. The monitor just flip flops around on it like a bobblehead. Getting it to sit straight is an impossible task. Once you do finally get it to sit straight, at the perfect height. The moment you even breathe on it too hard. It immediately starts leaning to one side or the other. It's awful. Again maybe something just isn't right with my specific stand, but i doubt it. Looking at the parts, and how this piece works. It just seems more likely to be a design flaw than a defect. . *if someone knows some sort of fix for this. Please tell me. I can't figure it out. That little bolt thing just doesn't seem to be secure enough once its been lifted slightly from the security washer at the bottom. I'm debating maybe trying to add a couple extra little washers, or maybe a tiny nut to the inside of it for extra stability.

P. Finch, Bromley

The mount is nice and is able to handle both of my screens. The one thing that i wanted to point out however is that the mounting screws for both the flat and curved backs are very weak and malleable. I stripped screw almost immedately and had to break out a hacksaw and pilars to get it out. Anyways take your time and realize that once you put that screw in your might have to work hard to get it out.

X. Diana, Waltham Forest says

Ships in just the manufacturers box with a shipping label. The box itself is sturdy, protects the item, and i concur with online store's choice to send as is. Now on to the item itself. The setup method i chose to use was as pictured on the item screen(freestanding base option). I am using this mount with (2) planar pt191mu monitors which each weigh 21. 01 pounds according to a spec search on cnet. So they fall just within each arms 22 pound capacity. I set this up on a "l" style corner desk with the base slightly to the right of the corner to hold my second pc monitor on its left arm, and the right arm monitor being used for my camera system. The left arm is placed so that the right edge of the monitor is at the mounts center post with the left monitor edge angled slightly forward of the base. The right arm is almost fully extended along the right edge of the desk with a very slight angle for viewing convenience. . Now here's where i can't justify giving more than 3 stars for the item. -the instability of the base(i. E. Lack of weight in the rear end) lead me to use (8) 1 pound lead ingots from my reloading stockpile to give it sufficient back weight to keep it from falling forward if lightly touched from the rear. You can see in the picture provided that i do not have these monitors placed very far forward. -also, luckily i kept the mount screws that came with these monitors as the thumbscrews included with the mount are far to long and bottomed out after about 5 threads. Now the mount does come with some standoffs to use in this scenario but they are useless as they are the same length of the thumbscrew threads. -the tilt feature also requires that you torque it down to what seems like almost the shear point of the threads before it is stable enough to hold the monitor at the position you want. With that tilt screw being torqued nice and tight, i am still able to adjust the tilt of the monitors with minimal effort, something that may be an issue as the product ages. . For my closing thoughts, this mount does have the option to use the weighted base with a drilled hole through the desk, which i may utilize in the future. But the base itself is far too light to be considered "weighted" as the specs claim. If you want portability for the freestanding installation option of this monitor mount you will want to add weight to the rear of the mount when using monitors close to the 22 pound weight limit of the arms.

U. Shayna, Bedfordshire

The product is very well built for holding two monitors. The arms are very strong and support the weight of older monitors with out any issue. However as a single stand while holding two 22 inch lcd screens is unstable. The recommendation to better secure the base is to drill through the desk and secure it with a through bolt and mounting bracket. . If i would have known this to be the case i would have looked at getting the clamp version of this stand. The adjustment i ended up using were 2 bungee cords on the stand and supporting leg to better secure the base.

H. Betty, Merton says

This is very prone to tipping over. I tried to use it with two fairly light 21 inch displays, and it was very prone to tipping. It will only remain upright if the displays are positioned just right. The base needs to be larger or heavily weighted to be functional as a dual monitor stand. I strongly recommend the bolt-on style instead.

. Erin, Manchester

I purchased this several months ago with the intent of using it to mount two 24 inch asus montiors at an angle to save space on the small desk that i use for my computer. I was excited to use this mount after reading the numerous glowing reviews, but now that i have it set up, i am quite disappointed. . The stand was relatively easy to put together, although tightening everything is a bit tricky with just two hands. Once i had attached the included vesa mounts to the backs of my monitors and then to the mount intself, i noticed that the left monitor was significantly higher than the right one. After much fiddling with the angles, brackets, and screws, i was unable to get them within a reasonable height of one another. I'm not sure if i have a defective unit or if there is a weight differential (there shouldn't be, because these are two identical monitors), but it's quite disappointing to extend your screen and have to look up and down as you go from monitor to monitor. . Given that i have a small desk, i was excited to be able to use the large stand without having to do any drilling. I know the manufacturer recommends drilling, but, what can i say: i live dangerously. Actually, the stand works quite well. I don't feel as if the monitors are going to fall over, but you can throw off the balance depending on the configuration and angles of the two monitors. I bumped my desk over and over again after setting this up, and i haven't been able to knock the stand over. Additionally, i have a large dog who enjoys bumping into pretty much everything in the house, and he hasn't managed to knock the monitors over either. . In conclusion, this is a passable, but deeply flawed monitor stand. While it fulfills the promise on no drilling, the adjustment options are bare bones and difficult. In the future, i am considering purchasing a different stand with more adjustment options in the hope of leveling my two monitors. Purchase this if you need to save space on your desk, but be aware that you might not be able to line up your monitors. If this is important to you, i would consider a different mount.

F. Russell, Corse says

The installation was easy enough for the most part. I took a star off since the cable management bits of the arm are a real pain to reattach with cables inside them. The screws seemed to be nearly impossible to line up with the cables in there while trying to hold the actual channel covers in place. . Once installed however they are perfectly usable. The adjustments are simple and the arms are holding up my two monitors just fine. . Edit 5 jan 2018 - one of the tension adjusters for the monitor (the one closest to the monitor itself) just stopped working. I came into my office to see one of the monitors staring at the floor. I was able to tighten the screw a bit to regain some friction but it happened again a week or so later (today). I adjusted it again but the screw is screwed in as hard as i can and i fear that it will give out again and i will have nothing to show for it. I removed one of my original stars because of this problem.

. Lorenz, British Columbia

Looking at the product on site and reading some of the reviews this looked like what i wanted. I got it and was impressed with the build quality. Instructions were well written and everything was clear. . I ended up going the route of the stand since that what would work best for my desk. So one issue i had is that i have mismatched monitors: one is a viewsonic and the other is a samsung both 24". The view sonic has standard vesa 100 x 100 so worked great with the supplied bracket. The samsung has a 200 x 100 vesa mount which does not work with this mount. I had to find a adapter on online store that would make the bracket work. Long story short i eventually got the bracket mounted on the back fo the monitor. Once that was done, i had to put both monitors on the stand, making sure one is supported because it was not balanced while i put the other one on. . My biggest grip is that there is some adjusting you can do with the mounts but because of the different brands of monitors and the mounts are mounted differently, the monitors are not level. There is no way to fix the height of one to match the other. This is a deal breaker for most people. . Summary:. Overall this is a nice product and would recommend it to someone who has identical monitors with vesa 100 or 75 mounts on their monitors. If you do not have identical monitors, make sure you get a mount that can adjust in all ways possible. Hope this helps

E. Smith, Tennessee says

I use this with 2 23 asus monitors. It does a decent job holding them in place, but the joints can be a bit flimsy as my screen can sometimes slant downward. My second and largest issue is how weak the base is. I am unable to use a majority of the discussed range of motion as the monitors weight constantly cause the stand to tip. But the large design of the base doesn't allot me to just move the whole thing forward. . Overall, the stand does hold my monitors and serves its purpose, but it's design holds it back from being a great buy.

Z. Theola, Brent

This is good monitor mount for the price. The materials used is good and looks like it's going to last long. The only problem i have with this is i bought this with new monitors asus ve278q 27 which is 14. 3lbs and this listing says it can support up to 15. 4lbs. But it can't. My monitors has to stay at least 8" high and not move it at all otherwise, it keeps going down touching the table. So i ended up swapping my monitors with my husband for a lighter ones 10lbs for this mount to work.

D. Sherry, New Hampshire says

No matter how much i adjusted this stand, the actual mounts would not even out my monitors. This stand is a lot deeper (i. E. If you have a shallow desk this might not be the best at all) than it needs to be. Most importantly, the stand is incredibly wobbly. Spend some more money and get a higher-end stand if you want a mount

. Lawrence, Buckinghamshire

I just installed this mount on two 24" asus monitors. . What i like:. -i now have more desk space. -i can adjust each monitor - from a fixed position, they can rotate up/down and side to side. From the center post, the monitors can be lifted or lowered vertically. . What i'm not overly pleased about:. -the monitor posts are not independent of each other in a vertical sense. My two asus monitors are a year or so apart, and apparently (shame on me for not checking), i did not realize that their mounting holes are vertically different. -the cable clips are very weak. Just attempting to put a power cord through the center clip, and it snapped in half. -the base is not very supportive. If i pull either monitor arm out over the base, it begins to tip forward. My monitors are 9lbs each.

J. Edna, Thueringen says

Stand bottom is a little light for 24" monitors, but more importantly was unable to align the monitors, even using the adjustment screw. See photo. . No matter what i tried, could not get the bottoms/tops of the monitors to align. Sent back.

. Denise, Florida

The stand is great in theory, but mostly fails in terms of execution for me. I have 2 hp 23e monitors which aren't very heavy. The stand is not weighted heavily enough at the base to keep the monitors from tipping forward on their faces unless i want to drill through my desk to anchor the base in place. I am capable of doing this, but don't want to for the simple fact that i then can't move the monitors anywhere else on the desk. The description of the product should be much more clear so that i could've simply gone with my 1st choice of 2 simple stands. Now i have to deal with trying to return the product, which even if the seller is gracious about it, is always a pain. . So, you should know that you won't be using this base unless you are willing to anchor it to your desk somehow. Again, really disappointing. If they simply added 10 or so pounds to the base and made the feet longer there wouldn't be a tipping issue and i wouldn't have to ruin my desk.

Y. Mary, Swindon says

Tried installing a 27 dell monitor and the arm instantly leaned down so i had to take it off. Tried my 24 dell monitor and it would tip because it couldn t balance itself out so this is worthless. I could only use the standalone base because my desk is made of tempered glass. I can t use the other options provided. I was expecting the base to be heavy enough for my monitors but it s useless. Build quality is okay and easy to assemble but it s a shame i couldn t use it with my monitors. I assume these will work better with newer slimmer 24 monitors i ve seen from other reviews here. I m returning it.

The product itself was pretty good. The main reason i only gave it a 3 star is that it came with no directions. The box was factory sealed, so it was missed at the packing point. The tension adjustments are somewhat good, although if you have a heavy monitor they may not be enough to stop it from dropping. After i sent an email to the company, they did send me a link to download the instructions. Would have been nice if i had them when i was installing though.

One main reason i chose this one was because it had same day delivery and i needed it done tonight. I waited until 8 :30 pm. No instructions included. ! some screws loose, some in separated bag compartments and tools included. But the reason it became an issue. No main screw and three side screws to mount pole to base or like i needed. To the desk with a hole. Basically it will not stand at all. Now trying to find at least a screw to temporarily hold center to desk. Be ready to find your own screws.

This thing not coming assembled in even the slightest was a pain. The base had a hole that would not allow for a screw to be driven in. Once i finally got it all together, i found that the screens have to be pushed back all the way in order for the whole stand to not tip forward. Additionally, the arms only move from side to side. They do not reach up or down so you have to physically adjust this with an allen key (which is a 2 man job). . This could have been better, but if i am super careful not to screw with it (no pun intended) then it works well. I used this with 2 17" dell monitors

Great stand overall but is missing a key feature in the positioning of each arm. I have two 27" monitors currently mounted with this stand and it holds them very well. However they aren't the same monitor so the mounting locations are way different. One is a samsung which has a higher mounting location and the other is a benq which has a central mounting location. There is no way to adjust one side up and down with this stand so i am suck with one monitor higher than the other. The only option i can think of is to purchase a matching monitor :(.

It works and for the price, probably can't be beat (i got mine from the warehouse with a damaged box). I'm using two 27" monitors and it handles them fine, however, can be a bit front heavy when they're all the way up on the support post. I lowered them and it's better. The adjustment is bit rough and it's really hard to just adjust them on the go. There's an allen wrench that tightens them/locks them in place. With 27" monitors, i have to tighten them back down or they'll move on their eventually. Overall though, it's good.

This is a decent mount; however, there are a couple of caveats. First, the screw that keeps the horizontal arms in place screws into a threaded portion of the mount. Over-tightening stripped this and i had to go buy a longer screw and hexnut to make it work. Second, i can't get the mounting plates to not move once tightened. Either i'm not strong enough or it's a poor design. It's hard to level them out when the mount (the part that sits into the arms) can't be adequately tightened. I like the product, but for as sturdy as it seems, there could be some improvements. I'm not sure i would order it again, but it is adequate for my work needs.

I bought the gas-spring mount with two arms, thought it's more advanced (expensive), might be better. . When i first had it installed, it worked fine and i was very happy. But just 4-5 months later, both of my 27' monitors fell to face down the desk when i arrived home one day. No matter how i tried to tighten the screws or fix it, the monitors could not hold their positions anymore. Then i could not do anything with my pc anymore, while i rely heavily on my pc for both work and entertainment. Such quality made me very disappointed. . I sent their customer service an email and hope for a quick reply. But i do want to post this as a warning for anyone who may want to get it and don't want to see such problem a few months after purchase.

This stand could not hold my dual monitors, which are each 8 pounds each, 16 pounds total. I followed the included instructions to get the monitors attached to the stand. When i went to set the stand upright with my attached monitors, the stand fell over. I would need to attach the stand to my desk edge with additional hardware, which i did not want to do. I wanted the monitors to be on a stand that i could set on top my desk.

I purchased this for my office desk as i greatly appreciate the option to stick it in a grommet without the use of a base. The biggest issue with this mount is the adjustment of both monitors to get the desired view angle and getting the monitors to sit properly and evenly. Once you have adjusted the arms, you mount the monitors and adjust for height. Seriously, i have identical 24" monitors that will never sit equally. After 30 minutes of assembly and adjustment, i just accepted it as what it was, i got what i paid for. If you're on a budget, this is a fine product to get you going. If you want an easier time, and a better fit keep looking. This is not the mount for you.

Not a great monitor stand. By default the horizontal arms for the monitor were offset, so one monitor is 3/4" higher than the other (see attached photo). The manual indicates you can adjust a locking nut on the mounting plate, but the hex key they provide was malformed and had trouble fitting into the hex bolt. After finally getting it into the hole, it stripped the inside of the adjustment bolt (see second photo) rather than turning it - it was stuck solid. The monitor i didn't need to adjust worked fine, but was already at it's lowest point, so i couldn't lower it to match. The one i needed to raise was unable to be moved. . The supplied vesa mount screws were fine, except for one, which was threaded incorrectly. I verified this by swapping it with the other screws. It had a very visible deformity, and will not screw in all the way (see third photo). One of my monitors only has 3 screws holding it up. . It also claims that it can free stand on the desk using the included base, however it is not weighted in any way. Having both monitors together with their edges aligned (as aligned as i can get them, given the height difference) causes the stand to lean forward slightly. The only thing holding it from tipping over is the monitor cables. A gentle push or bump and the whole thing tips forward. . I do not recommend this unit.

I am using this with 2 27 inch monitors and they are 11 pounds each. This mount said it can handle 22 lbs per arm it did not specify if that 22 lbs was only if you use the bolt option or not but i don't see how this can handle 22 lbs per arm for a total of 44 lbs when it can't stay upright with my 11 lbs totaling 22 lbs. I have a glass top desk so i needed one that could just sit on my desk and not need to be bolted. I gave this 3 stars because i used black duck tape to outline the base and then placed a shelf over it and disguised the tape and now it looks great i am just taking 2 stars off for the fact that the base just isn't heavy enough to stay upright with the monitors.

I had to make my own custom mount for my monitors out of a solid piece of aluminum angle for it to work with the mounts, but once i did that, everything fit. My only issue with them is that the base doesn't weigh enough. With two monitors on it, it is very top heavy. If i lightly push on my monitors, they tip over. Given that, i've had them sitting on my desk fro a few months now and they haven't fallen over.

T. Elizabeth, New Mexico

This stand is a tad bit awkward to handle when putting on large monitors. It states that it will handle up to 27 inch monitors and i have 22 inch and the unit almost tilted over from the weight. The base could be a little heavier which would prevent this from happening. I didn't find the adjustments easy and the instructions were okay to follow for someone who is mechanically incline. For the price it is an okay stand and fits well on my table.
